Oh the kid's will love it.

My only interest in the Zenon series has only been for Kirsten Storms. Who of course for Days Of Our Lives fans plays Belle Black on the show.

This is a silly movie. But indeed fun to watch. There's alot of silly shows for children and young adults. This one though is rather fun. Sure some spots might be a tad unbearable. But that's what they made the remote for. My only disappointment is that it isn't on dvd. :(

First Contact
bkoganbing18 September 2015
Kirsten Storms is back as our futuristic teen Zenon in Zenon: The Zequel and she's done nothing less than make first contact with an alien species. Her problem is that she can't convince anyone she has.

It all starts when while playing some futuristic video games Zenon and her friend Nebula now played by Shadia Simmons flip the wrong switch and suck out Commander Stuart Pankin's furniture out the airlock. They'll make for some mighty interesting meteors the minute they hit a planet with gravity. So Storms is exiled to a remote part of the station where she is to listen for noises like aliens wanting to make contact. This is a place to get rid of people who don't quite fit in.

In addition the military is taking over the station and Jane Maltby who was Zenon's nemesis from the first film is now on the station and she's the daughter of the general in charge. There are some days even in outer space when it doesn't just rain it pours.

Of all things the aliens want to contact futuristic rock star Proto Zoa once again played by Phillip Rhys. Seems as though they heard his space station concert from the previous film and dig his sound. They also are looking for a navigational bearing.

Of course Zenon is vindicated again. The Zequel is in the good tradition of the previous film and good family entertainment from The Magic Kingdom.

Very regular and simple...
RosanaBotafogo3 December 2022
Armed with a restricted-zone roaming pass granted to her for heroism, 15-year-old Zenon Kar (Kirsten Storms) and her best friend, Nebula (Shadia Simmons), cause trouble throughout Space-Stay. When your antics catch the Commander's attention. Plank (Stuart Pankin), he orders Zenon to work in the alien patrol lab, where she will spend hours waiting for signs of alien life. After Zenon receives what she believes is a radio signal from an alien, she tries to convince the skeptical crew.

This one manages to be just as regular and simple as the first one, however, as it was less dispersed, it managed to get a little attention and even enjoy it at times, still regular... Very regular and simple...

This movie was totally not fabulo!
cjwilson871 June 2002
Ok where to begin! This movie was a little disappointing. To being with, Zenon's acting coach must have left with Raven Symone. When she was in the first movie, her acting was believable, but her acting in this movie was a little too much, she needs to tone it down and stop trying so hard. Next, the movie itself has many mistakes, tiny little ones. In the first movie, couldn't they only bring to the spay-stay what they could cultivate? No animals? So why were they eating turkey?! Maybe they were space zappad dinners, who knows. And maybe in space they put on socks with wet nail polish, too -- since Margie's socks were glued to her toes and wouldn't be if she had let her toenails dry like us normal humans. And what happened to the other characters in the movie?! All her space friends? Maybe they contacted Miss Cleo and she told them this movie was going to be a bomb and they kept their distance. And if Protazoa is trying to hide from the public, why is his secret hideout posted on his website? Ok, I don't want to seem like I am babbling, so in summary -- if you are looking for a laugh, see this movie--it's full of them!!

Fun for the Family
pcpburke21 April 2002
This was a good movie for what's been on TV for kids lately, with interesting settings, clothing and plotline. Kirsten Storms(who plays Zenon) is a tallented young actress. If you're looking for a movie and you have kids, watch this!

Disappointment Major!
Jamie-7018 January 2001
The first Zenon movie was hilariously kitschy. This "zequel" however is not only unfunny, but unremarkable. Greg is written out of the whole movie by having him break up with Zenon at the beginning, mistake #1. Zenon's parents and Nebula are portrayed by different actors, mistake #2. The movie is almost saved when Margie (the hilarious anti-hero of the first film) arrives on the scene and makes Zenon's life a nightmare...unfortunately she becomes Zenon's friend, mistake #3. Then we have this horrible subplot with aliens (rainbow colored specks), mistake #4. And that's basically the movie. And oh yeah, they rip off the ending of the first movie, having Protozoa and his band Microbe play a new song, Galaxy is Ours which is alright but weak compared to Supernova Girl. This is painful major. The novelty has worn off. The first movie was creative and cheesy. Chelsea Clinton was president, everyone drove VW Bugs, people played games with spinning milk cartons, everyone liked to hack and kids had funny lines like "it was never you he liked it was the car!" Let me be the first to ask, why was this "zequel" ever made?

Excellent Major
solojones12 January 2001
Zenon is back! The original story continues! I would highly reccomend this movie and its prequel to any family-film lovers. Although it is disappointing that some of the original characters and/or actors aren't in this continance, Storms is and she has proven that she is a very talented young actress. I only have one hope: that Disney keeps this fun series going!

Total Cheese
Charizardfire96 July 2001
I don't know what the hell is wrong with you people. This movie sucked. They said that Zenon would save the world. Did she? No. She just saved some aliens that were trapped. Sure, the aliens saved the space station, BUT THAT'S NOT SAVING THE WORLD!!!! There's absolutely no villain. Maggie's father isn't the villain. This movie is a major letdown from the first movie. Zenon's new parent actors don't help. STOP MAKING SUCH CRAPPY MOVIES, DISNEY!

Cetus-Lapedus! What a Zequel!
Panthor15 January 2001
Ever since the last Disney Channel original movie -- "The Ultimate Christmas Present" premiered when they first aired the very first promo for "Zenon: The Zequel" I have been really looking forward to this movie ALL month long and right up until the premEAR of it on January 12, 2001 -- two years after the premEAR of the first one ("Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century") in which I have also been a fan of as well.

This movie is basically everything I could have hoped it would be and more with one minor drawback -- that the producers were unable to get the FULL cast of the first one back to do the sequel. Still, the important characters were still played by the same actors/actresses (Kirsten Storms, Lauren Maltby, Stuart Pankin and Phillip Rhys as Proto Zoa.) Stuart Pankin is simply hilarious and a GREAT actor -- in both "Zenon" movies as well as in "Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves". Kirsten Storms (Zenon Carr) is even better in this sequel than the first movie, though she still gave a fantastic performance in the first one. Her arch-earth-nemesis, Margie (Lauren Maltby) is in this sequel a lot more than she was in the first one and also gives a fantastic performance.

The opening scene (after the voice-over introductory scene) is just absolutely so well done and hilarious! This really does a great job of grabbing the viewer's attention and will make the viewer want to keep watching the rest of the movie for anymore just-as-hilarious scenes as this one. So I don't ruin the movie for anyone, I won't go into detail and describe it here but just let me say that it all starts off with a very innocent little computer game that turns out to be a REAL game and proves to be disastrous-major!

It's original movies like this one that really keeps me looking forward to each and every Disney Channel original movie every month as well as collecting them all for my video library!

Lauren Maltby as Margie Hammond
KRISLAR7827 May 2002
Hi. I was so excited when I saw Zenon: The Zequel on the Disney Channel on January 12, 2001. My favorite character is Lauren Maltby, who plays... you guessed it, Margie Hammond. I think she is an exceptional young actress, and I am glad that she and Kirsten Storms, who played Zenon Kar in both Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century, as well as Zenon: The Zequel, are good friends. I am glad to see that Margie and Zenon, who were first enemies in the first movie, became good friends in the 2nd movie. I really believe that they really learned a good lesson about friendship.

Even Better Than The First!
Javi-2515 January 2001
I enjoy Zenon movies a lot. This movie really hits the spot. It is funny, thrilling, and just entertaining. It's even better than the 1st movie. This one has more action, and more scenery, and cool fashion stiles. I hope they make a TV series out of This. I'll give it **** out of ****.

This was absolutely horrible compared to the original
blueqt416 January 2001
The only things that I found remotely entertaining about Zenon the Zequel were her new wardrobe, the alien's spaceship and Protozoa's new song. This movie was terrible with an overall boring, stupid plot. The fact that Zenon, Marjie, Commander Plank and Protozoa were the only returning characters was extremely disappointing and took away from the fun cast dynamic that was present in Zenon Girl of the 21st Century. It bothered me that they couldn't even give the new actress who played Nebula a different name (and make her Zenon's new best friend) instead of pretending to be someone with the fame of Raven-Symone. I hope that Kirsten Storms is prudent enough to keep with her role on Days of Our Lives and look back on this film as her career flop, vowing never to let something like this happen again.

Zenon Girl of the 21st Century was the first disney movie I ever saw and I went on to love others such as Alley Cats Strike, The Other Me and Brink!, but I hope to never incur the unfortunate circumstance of having to view Zenon the Zequel again.

stellar!
joseph_3026314 January 2001
Not quite as good as the first one, but there aren't a whole lot of movies like that. (Exceptions: Toy Story 2) Zenon, Margie, Proto Zoa, Commander Plank, and Aunt Judy are played by the same people but that all! Besides stuff like that, and being predictable (which all Disney Channel movies are) this movie is stellar!

The future is wild
zimmerblake4 November 2022
I love this here movie. It's about the future and apparently in the future entertainment has disappeared because the first scene of the movie shows two teenage girls fascinated by playing something like the arcade game pong. I mean they are truly amazed. It's like they've never seen a video game of any kind. There must have been some point between now and the future period of this movie where all video games were destroyed for blasphemy.

ProtoZoa is the real star of this here cinema and the whole zenon franchise. He's hilarious. He loves himself and rightly so because he's got a funny accent and cool hair.

So Not Stellar
frodolover45619 June 2004
When I saw Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century, I loved Zenon. But when I saw the first ten minutes of Zenon: the Zequel I immediately hated the movie. Here are 5 reasons why.

1. Zenon turned to a self-centered person who only cared about herself.

2. They made Greg break up with Zenon.

3. They changed the actor who played Nebula.

4. Shadia Simmons wasn't as good as Raven Symone.

5. They changed the actors who played Zenon's parents.

In conclusion, this was one of the many bad movies that Disney has made like (in my opinion) Johnny Tsunami or Motocrossed, and maybe Disney should just stop trying.

Stretch your imagination and enjoy great scenery
susancocco13 January 2001
This is a fun, family movie sure to be enjoyed by most. As with most Disney movies, there is a lesson to be learned about friendships. Teens will like the neat fashion designs and room decorations. I'm sure many will be able to stretch their imaginations and will copy on these fashions. The use of ultramodern adjectives will catch on and make for fun.

Xenon is my soul mate
jehlers-837661 May 2023
Best movie ever.

Xenon is the epitome of 20th century science fiction. It's optimistic and idealist but so great. Awesome soundtrack and acting. Top notch performances. This movie made want to become an astronaut and explore worlds beyond our own You must reach for the stars to meet protozoa, that's all that matters (pun intended) in the universe. Aliens exist, the truth is out there, we are not alone in the universe. She's a 21st century girl aiming to be a 23rd century leader. Xenon can lead humankind into the future. Follow her or fail.

Zoom, zoom, zoom. Makes my heart go boom, boom boom.

They should make a TV-Series for Zenon!
luv-able13 January 2001
I liked both movies a lot. They are both very cute movies and I really like Kirsten Storms. I think that a TV-Series would be super Nova!!! So to the writers and Disney if you see this, it's something to think about??? PLEASE :)

Just when you thought it could not get any better
lucky82514 January 2001
Just when you thought the first movie was the tops they come along with the "Zequel". Everything was as Margie says Fabulo. I don't want to give the plot away but the story moved smoothly and without any breaks. The futuristic wardrobe was even better with more styles in this movie. All in all the movie left you wishing that there was life out there.

Omigod- The outfits!
avsn29 May 2001
Omigod, did you get these outfits. Teenagers have it fashion great on the Spay-Stay. I really liked the outfit on Zenon in the Wedding scene. Who's with me, Disney store product? Really liked the technology too. Who needs a phone if you have a Zappad!

Excellent Extreme!
Sage40209 July 2002
Zenon's back, as the series returns with Zenon The Zequel. Personally, in my opinion, this movie was excellent. The movies plot did have some faults, unlike the first movie, but it kept up with the story. New and exciting things include ZAP-PADs, which are updated versions of the Communicator, Zenon's new wardrobe, and more insight into the Space-Stay. I do agree with others that this movie did have some flaws. Perhaps the most major flaw is that the plot deviated from the story sometimes. However, both movies in the series are excellent major! I do recommend them to anyone who is interested.

A Total Major Stelar Movie
alex_hartle6 January 2002
Kirsten Storms yet again succeeds. She was the perfect Zenon. The plot in this movie was about a 9.8 out of 10. The sets where great and the costumes were lets say "FABULO!" And to top it off great characters and script. This for sure was not one of those career ending sequel's. I just hope that they will keep this show going. Zenon: The Zequel will be in my list of favorite movies for sure!

Good Movie
rammstein_engel76 July 2001
Well, I think it is a super movie, I liked this movie a lot, I like Zenon too, hehe, well Kirsten Storms, I think the movie is very cool because it is about the life in the space, and they are looking for Protozoa, I just saw this movie once, so far, so I dont know everyone names on the movie, just, Zenon, Nebula, Protozoa, Margie (or something like that) and that's all. Well I think it will be cool if they do a TV series, maybe I will watch it, and it will be cool too if you (the ones who invented this web site) put some more pictures of Kirsten Storms in here, hehehe. COOL MOVIE, WATCH IT
