Brilliant as usual

I love Dalziel and Pascoe, Warren Clarke is a favourite of mine but I mainly tuned in to this episode cos my fave actress Amita Dhiri is in it. She was excellant as a Lancashire lass working with the working class Yorkshireman Dalziel.

Nice to see Nicola Walker, once again she was brilliant.

I wish they'd invite DC Kendall back to work with them again, maybe when Novello's on leave.

Cracking episode.

Peter comes to the aid of a young woman, who faces mortal danger by the hands of a man, who's targeting homeless women, she gives her name, Abbie Hallingsworth, only she's believed to have been dead for nineteen years.

Great episode, this one has aged incredibly well, a super start to the fifth series, wonderful characters, and an incredibly intriguing case. There's a complexity and detail in this one, that remains impressive, it was always a case of is she, or isn't she.

Several poignant moments, I loved that scene where Andy meets his new boss, and thinks she's a stripper, Fenning is somewhat different to her predecessors. When we get the 'twist,' that's when it really opens up.

What a shame that the super talented and incredibly beautiful Amita Dhiri only stayed for one episode, Shaz Kendall would have been a great regular.

Super performances from Nicola Walker and Donald Sumpter, both are faultless.

9/10.

My Binge-watch continues and I just have to give this series opener a 10.

Although it is not a clear continuation from the previous series and Ellie Pascoe is missing again, there is a fantastic cast to make up for it.

Great character actors like David Haig feature as does the likeable Amit's Dhiri from This Life.

Pippa Haywood and Nicola Parker bring their earthy allure to match Warren Clarke's doggedness but the star for me is Tim Preece. He was a good friend of my late Uncle Tony Edwards and read his eulogy at his funeral.

His roles aren't usually very big but he does make an impact Great start to series 5.
