It was tough to pass on a movie with this title.
Set in a vaguely medieval setting, this very low budget Chinese film is a cautionary tale about the hazards of extra-marital activity. As with many Asian horror movies, it features a white and black magic wizard, a hopping vampire, levitation, and a pasty-faced ghost. As a novelty, it includes explicit but dull sex scenes. It is better than other hardcore Chinese sex-horror films, which is not an endorsement.
While ransacking the home of the region's governor, a clumsy thief accidentally releases a "black magic hex" that possesses some of the townsfolk, including the governor. Meanwhile, a young woman is distraught over her husband's frequent absence; he comes home drunk and is uninterested in her. This guy's busy social schedule includes sleeping both with her and a girlfriend, and plotting evil deeds with the governor. The wife is also a disciple of the local white-haired good wizard. Eventually, the husband poisons and then strangles his wife to death. She comes back, however, as a flying spirit to avenge her murder.
If you hang in there, the final half hour achieves an agreeable level of spooky horror. One notable scene shows the wife's ghost hovering outside her home, unable to enter past a series of sacred papers pasted over the door. Her voice a frightening echo, she tries to lure her terrified husband to the door and let her in.
By the way, there is only passing reference to a "mind fuck," which is never explained. The closest reference is when the wife complains that her "brain is on fire" just before she dies. Otherwise, no mind fucking is observed.
