Mr. Perfect (Curt Hennig) was a last minute replacement for the Ultimate Warrior (Jim Hellwig) as Randy Savage's tag team partner, since the Warrior had flunked a drug test. Perfect turned on Bobby Heenan one week before the event, humiliating Heenan on WWF Prime Time Wrestling.

A match between "British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith and The Mountie (Jacques Rougeau) for the WWF Intercontinental Championship was scheduled for this PPV, but Rougeau quit the WWF on October 26th, while Smith was caught alongside The Ultimate Warrior for purchasing HGH, and would be forced to drop the title to Shawn Michaels on Episode #7.2 (1992) before being forced to leave the WWF. After spending 1993 in WCW, Smith would not return to the WWF until Summerslam (1994).
