Elvira (Still) Rocks Hot!
Tweetienator4 January 2021
Cassandra Peterson as our hostess Elvira of course is iconic, and even if not every episode of Elvira's Movie Macabre is what I call ueber-good, this little horror show is still an well entertaining and funny and sometimes sexy beast. If you did not watch this one already, put it on your bloody dish - pronto.

Horror Hostess With The Mostess
Thor20005 June 2001
There are only three horror movie hosts I've ever really liked: Joel Robinson,Mike Nelson and the girl with the big......talent,Elvira. She made the horror movie host segments new again with her larger than life figure and her snappy and hilarious wisecracks during commercial breaks (unfortunately, not to the movie). Elvira set the standard for everyone else and sometimes even broke it in her zeal to become the matron goddess of Halloween. I don't know how many movies she ran, or as the case may be, scurried across her sofa, as she curled up or stretched out in her hostess segments, but she did find a way to make herself the star of her so-bad-its-good horror marathons. Cheers to Elvira for the show, and the wonderful mammaries,I mean memories.

This is my third favorite horror host show. I'll admit at the time I was a little too young (about 6) to really watch "Elvira's Movie Macabre" (not sure I really could since I didn't have cable at the time and not sure if it came to the Washington area) since it was on midnight, let alone premiered movies I still couldn't watch past the R rating. However I did know about Elvira as she was in lots of TV commercials and was a very popular figure in the horror community, and it's not hard to see why.

Elvira is one of the great mascots for the horror community whom became a phenomenon from some merchandise and heck she even had three pinball games two from "Bally" "Monster Party" and "Scared Stiff", both games I played and "Scared Stiff" is one of my favorite pinball games for the record. And a video game pinball game for the Atari Lynx called "Monster Jam" which was cool.

Not much to say, I like the setting takes place in a big gothic mansion though we never really see most of it, instead it mainly consists of a big couch and set pieces that come along the way. But it goes with the old saying less is more because it's really the character Elvira that carries the show.

Elvira is both sexy from what she wears and what is revealed with the persona to boot. She has sort of this valley girl like mannerism but she not the stereotypical kind because he's actually smart but most importantly just has some of the best lines and wit, most of it really was unscripted at she actually improved in some places which is common for most horror hosts which makes it all the better because the comedy feels fresh and genuine.

Really like her commentary on some of the films she watches which feel honest, some of the film are really winner which makes it all the funnier just seeing her whip out some hilarious mockery, in a way this segment slightly predated "MST 3000". We share in her quips because those are the same things we do whenever we see a bad film or a film so bad it's good. There were even little skit segments she would sometimes do in the middle or after the movie, from doing a cheer or even a miniature toy plane that is coming in for a landing in let's just say a no fly zone.

Elvira is the queen of horror hosts that captures all horror fans hearts.
