Watchable in a crap sort of way I suppose...

Wishmaster 4: The Prophecy Fulfilled has a young woman named Lisa Burnley (Tara Spencer-Nairn) fighting a legal battle with her wheelchair bound husband Sam (Jason Thompson) for compensation. However their lawyer Stephen Verdel (Michael Trucco) has a crush on Lisa, he gives her a present a small jewellery box inside which is a red gem stone from which the evil wish granting Djinn (John Novak) is unleashed. The Djinn needs someone to make three wishes which, upon him granting the third wish, will free his kind from a dimension somewhere between heaven & hell to rule the Earth. The Djinn steals Stephen's identity & sets about trying to trick someone into making the three required wishes & since Lisa & the real Stephen were seeing a lot of each other she's as good as anyone. First Lisa wishes the court case was over & that they won, easy no problem. Then Lisa wishes Sam could walk again, no sooner said than done. But then Lisa wishes she could love Stephen for who he really is, the Djinn is confused about how to grant this wish as he doesn't have a clue about love. The Djinn sets out on a mission to understand, make Lisa fall in love with him, grant the third wish & set his kind free to overrun the Earth...

This Canadian American co-production was directed by Chris Angel, who also has a small uncredited cameo as a car washing neighbour, Wishmaster 4: The Prophecy Fulfilled was OK at best. The script by John Benjamin Martin is part horror part love story with each element given a fair amount of screen time. The film comes across as a bit uneven when we see the Djinn as an evil monster one moment & all emotional the next. It moves along at a fair pace although it does drag a little in the middle, it has some fairly imaginative scenes but the potential was there for bigger & better things. The scene where the Djinn talks with Hollister (John Bemjamin Martin who also wrote Wishmaster 4 The Prophecy Fulfilled) over the phone & subtly suggests that he kill himself with various puns & innuendo is quite effective, talk about giving yourself the best bits! The character's are OK but the attempts at drama don't really work as it's hard to take the thing seriously.

Director Angel doesn't do anything spectacular in the director's chair & serves up a throughly routine & bland looking horror film. The only reason to watch this is to see how the Djinn twists people's wishes & manages to kill them, some are OK while others seem like afterthoughts. There is some decent gore in Wishmaster 4: The Prophecy Fulfilled, someone pulls their own tongue out, cuts their nose off & shoots themselves, someone's hand is crushed & then they are impaled on a spike, someone has their face pulled off, someone is decapitated & various stabbings.

Apparently filmed back-to-back with the previous instalment Wishmaster 3: Beyond the Gates of Hell (2001) this was obviously made-for-video & has that low budget cheap vibe throughout. Some of the special effects are OK although the Djinn itself looks a little rubbery & overall it's well made but nothing stands out as being particularly good. The acting was OK but again sort of average.

Wishmaster 4: The Prophecy Fulfiulled is by no means the best horror film ever made but it isn't the worst either. If you can grab a copy cheap or it's on TV for free & you have nothing better to do then I think it's worth a watch, just have realistic expectations.

Ok, if you're going to make a Wishmaster movie, then you should probably try to be consistent with the other three. First of all, you knew this movie would be low-B grade when it opened with a soft-core porn scene. Second, every other woman who woke the Djinn was connected to him mentally..but not this one. Why not? And if the Djinn knows his waker doesn't know he's a genie, why doesn't he just ask 3 simple things? "Do you want some water?" "do you wish it were friday already?" etc. Why did the Djinn bother acting like her lawyer in the first place? Why the sudden need to pretend he's not a Djinn?

Speaking of the Djinn, Mr. Novac needs to watch less WWF. I could've sworn it was Hulk Hogan playing the Djinn in some scenes. It made me miss Andrew Divoff's aloof, inhumane Djinn. And where the hell did "the hunter" come from? Why is this the first time we see him? And what good is he if he only comes after the 3 wishes have been made?

If you were to watch this movie totally apart from the rest of the series, it might be tolerable, but even so, it's not great. 4/10

People expect too much from this film, but it's good

This film is a far better example of a sequel than a lot of other straight to video sequels. Although this is not "Citizen Kane" by any means it is an entertaining and well acted movie, in most respects. Personally, i was impressed by the performance of Michael Trucco playing the human face of the Djinn. His voice in several scenes was an interesting tribute to Andrew Divoff. His performance far surpasses Chris Connery from the third installment. The female lead is sexy, and not untalented. And for the first time since the original, the story is different. What people fail to realize is this is an anthology film series, the others who reviewed this flick keep comparing John Novak's Djinn to Andrew Divoff's original performance. He is not the same Djinn, he is not meant to be the same Djinn. The Djinn both singular and plural are a race of beings created after the angels but before man. There are more than one of them out there. Another factor to consider is that this is the fourth installment of the series, as a writer, director and actor in this film, you inherit three films worth of storyline and baggage, and with the shrunken budget, you have very little to work with. The story has originality, the film is fast paced, it contains some humor and interesting wish fullfillment, and it has new characters and a new dimension to the Djinn mystique. It's a good flick, and i suggest it to all Wishmaster fans. Just keep an open mind.

Better than #3.....But not by much

Better than #3. Well,that isn't saying much. It still stunk, with gratuitous nudity thrown in to maybe try and save it??? What a joke. The only reason that I saw this after #3 was that a friend rented it and I got to see it for free.

Wishmaster #1 was a 9+

Wishmaster #2 was about a 7

Wishmaster #3 was a big fat 0.

And this one was about a 2, only in part because they got rid of the actor(Connery) who played the Wishmaster in #3, and it was a little bit better storyline, even though they didn't stick to the previous ways that the people received their wishes. Hell, the leading lady may have just as well wished for a steak dinner, a new pair of shoes and a weekend at Bernies for all that mattered to the story.

JUST PLAIN BAD.

Not scary, not gory, not interesting

When her boyfriend is crippled in a motorcycle accident, a woman is tempted by the evil Wishmaster, who's possessed the body of her boyfriend's sleazy lawyer (played by Michael Trucco, who's best known as Sam on BSG). Like the previous sequel, this one features weak special effects, no real scares, and is again minus Andrew Divoff as the Wishmaster. Move along, nothing to see here.

Not as boring as 3rd movie, still a really bad sequel

Now I seen this movie , I said to my self, It's can not be as bad as the last one and boy was I wrong, as it felt more of the same.

I saw this back to back with 3rd movie yesterday, I could not believe what I was watching .

The plot was just unbelievable rubbish and this whole Angle thing was, just , I have no words for that.

The movie was filled with silly fight scenes, that last way too long and are very predicable.

One thing I did like, was that there were some good bloody scenes.

I did think Michael Trucco was decent in this role again, the acting in this was not too bad.

I think they should have had a better ending to the series overall.

Soulless prophecy

Always actively made an effort not to show any bias against any genre (likewise with towards too) in order to be fair-minded. Horror is no exception, do prefer other genres myself but have always appreciated it. The horror genre boasts its fair share of classics, old and new, and there are characters that are horror icons and deservedly so. At the same time, there are a number of misfires, low budget and not.

Watched the 'Wishmaster' series as part of my horror franchise completest quest and the films happened to pop up in my recommended for you and more like this sections. The first 'Wishmaster' was entertaining and watchable, but don't really consider it a particularly great, or even particularly good, film, while absolutely understanding why people like it. The second film was lacklustre and had a lot of faults, but was still the best of the sequels which is saying a lot. The third film in nearly all senses was abominable, with the least bad asset being AJ Cook and she went on to do much better things.

Despite saying before that the franchise got worse with each sequel, on reflection now consider 'Wishmaster 4' a little better than 'Wishmaster 3'. Then again a lot of things are better than 'Wishmaster 3'. This at least doesn't have charisma-void Jason Connery and it is a little more eventful, if too late into the film. It is still very bad, with most of the flaws of the previous film still standing, if a little less badly, and also with new ones. It felt rather soulless and at the end of the day it misses the point of not just what the title of the film promises but also of the whole franchise.

Regarding the redeeming qualities, the leads' acting is marginally better than that of Connery's in the previous film.

The story is a little less over-stretched and uneventful than the previous film. In regard to both of those, that is not saying much, as the acting is mostly patchy from the cast and the story execution is pretty poor.

One of 'Wishmaster 4' biggest problems is that the first act really drags and takes too long to get going, actually it is rather aimless. The film early on is also too repetitive and there are scenes that go on for too long and the scenes themselves feel like padding. There is far too much emphasis on the seduction scenes, which are not really all that sensual, the nudity also being far too much and gratuitous. 'Wishmaster 4' does pick up slightly in the middle, but suffers from a complete lack of tension and suspense, it's still not very interesting and gets sillier and sillier. Then there is the final act which is ridiculous beyond belief. The character development is pretty sketchy and none of the characters are likeable. On top of that, there's the character of The Hunter, did not see the point of him at all, he also was one of the main reasons for the silliness and the film does very little with his character or story.

Many of 'Wishmaster 3's' flaws are present here. John Novak is still terrible as Dijinn, there is just no menace in Novak's interpretation or any dark humour, he is just goofy and comes over as incredibly irritating above all else. Plus his look has to be seen to be believed and that is not meant in a good way. There is a drab and chaotic look to the production values and the special effects are last minute-like. The dark humour is replaced by an overload of cheese, there is never anything suspenseful or creative, the action is more silly and tired than exciting and the wishes are pretty dumb again, the creepiness and humour gone. The climax is beyond moronic and the very end feels incomplete. Nothing is darkly humorous, original or suspenseful and mostly not interesting, and the direction lacks distinction and confidence.

Summarising, very poor third sequel but a marginal improvement over the third film. 2/10

OMGs! *wretches*

This and the third installment of this series, were directed by Chris Angel, a guy who has done absolutely nothing else in his life but 3 other unheard-of, horrid movies.

'Nuff said? Yeah. I thought so. This reeked just as bad as the third one. Okay, honestly, it was a TEENY bit better, but this really was a horrible, tedious, boring @ss movie.

Again, the stone is loose and some bubble-headed blonde has it.

'Nuff said? Yeah. I thought so again. I hadn't thought it possible, but the acting actually got WORSE! After Wishmaster 3, I thought I'd seen it all, but there's more! Rent it just to throw stuff at your TV for having to watch it. Really. The sets are a bit better, but that's the only difference between this one and the third one.

It starts out on a promising note, and then the promise is broken, almost immediately, and never once attempts to redeem itself.

Don't waste your time.

Definitely has it's flaws

When her new husband is accidentally crippled, a woman finds that her friend has become possessed by the spirit of the Djinn and tries to hold off granting the third wish to allow his race to take over the planet as his love for her has become too great.

This ended up being quite a disappointing entry in the series that's filled with way too many problems to overcome it's good points. The main point here is obviously the ridiculously lame and contrived love angle between the two, which is a unique plot, but goes nowhere with it. The initial meetings here before the possession is a series of long, dragged-out series of scenes petitioning for his chances which isn't all that fun to watch while setting him up as more of a creep than anything, while their own personal struggles don't endear them to this one either as there's very little fun about these scenes. Even after the transformation occurs, their continued arguing and hostility just makes for a dragged out experience here, an while there's the fact that the awakener actually casts the three desired wishes which is an original idea, but this one completely wastes this intriguing idea that drains all the horror from the story by adding in the love sub-theme. Not only is the seduction attempts completely lame and really intrudes on the big kills here, the last two-thirds of the movie is simply the Djinn trying to explain to the other Djinns why he cannot grant the third wish to open the gates of Hell, which is a totally laughable series of scenes as both the creature and also in his human form appealing against the creatures before whining and crying to let him finish. It actually gets boring waiting and waiting to see how it would play out trying to win her over, and this is such a detrimental negative to the film. Another gripe as well is that the wishes granted by the Djinn never really had any negative consequences like the first two as the Djinn never tricks anybody and, except for one, nobody actually got harmed while making their wishes which really defeats the whole purpose for being there. Lastly, the film really seems intent on going overboard here with too many extra-long scenes that go nowhere but really tend to eat up time here, including the unnecessary bonus kills as well as a Terminator plot who must kill her before the Djinn grants the third wish, but this is so clumsily inserted it sticks out so badly it's dropped as quickly as it's brought up in a clumsy sword-fight, just like the equally clumsy alley- fight that's just pitiful which manages to bring this down quite significantly. That said, there's some good stuff here in the fact that this one makes up for a lot of that by inserting far more nudity than any other entry in the series, which not only features their sex scenes and rather sleazy spying scenes but also the meeting place in a strip club comes to mind giving this one a lot more than expected. The only other feature that works here is the finale which does have some nice action scenes throughout as the true plot is revealed and there's dozens of creatures breaking through to prevent the escape only to be trapped back before in the same room again and including a fantastic burning- down-the-house segment. While it manages to contain some nice stuff along the way, this is easily the weakest in the series.

Rated R: Nudity, Graphic Violence, several sex scenes and Graphic Language.

A Good Sequel – Not As Bad As Indicated in Some Reviews

Lisa Burnley (Tara Spencer-Nairn) owns a boutique and lives with her beloved boy-friend Sam (Jason Thompson), who became crippled and very bitter after a motorcycle accident. Sam's lawyer Steven Verdel (Michael Trucco) has a crush on Lisa. The Wishmaster possesses Steven's body, and he tries to grant three wishes to Lisa, to release the Djinn demons and start the Armagedon on Earth. However, when she tells Steven: "- I wish I could love you for who you really are.", her third wish is a paradox, since it depends on herself to be granted. The Wishmaster unsuccessfully tries to seduce Lisa.

Although having flaws in the story, "Wishmaster 4: The Prophecy Fulfilled" is a good sequel. I like this character very much, and the two first movies are excellent. In this fourth episode, there is a lack of humor in the deaths of The Wishmaster. Further, there is a character, Hunter, supposed to be good, but the guy decapitates an innocent woman without any reason. Lisa is the "Waker" that will fulfill the prophecy since she found the red stone. One who wakes a djin shall be given three wishes. Upon granting the third, an unholy legion of djins are freed through a doorway between the worlds upon the Earth. The actress Tara Spencer-Nairn has a beautiful body (specially her breasts) and is very gorgeous. Therefore, this film is not as bad as indicated in some IMDb reviews. My vote is six.

Big Disappointment

When i rented the first Wishmaster when it arrived here in Sweden in '97, i thought it was a masterpiece and a new horror character was born: Andrew Divoff as The Djinn. around 2 years later i saw (at the same store) Wishmaster 2: Evil Never Dies and i thought YES and it starred Divoff again. but it was a bit disappointing - it wasn't as good as the first movie (how many sequels are?..) but Divoff was brilliant as always but the script was a little boring and it was almost the same story as the first one. about 2 years later i heard about a third one and i thought wow - it's gonna to be a trilogy..! and i hoped Divoff returned as the Djinn..but no, Divoff was replaced by John Novak and the third movie was not as bad as i thought it would be, Jason Connery (Sean Connery's son) saved the movie but Novak wasn't so bad at all either. then i heard about a fourth movie (was it going to be a big series ??) and i couldn't wait but sadly it never came to Sweden for rental so i purchased the UK release of the DVD and last summer i watched it and it was a big big disappointment...well the script was really bad (why name a movie the prophecy fulfilled when it wasn't ??..stupid) the biggest disappointment were that Divoff didn't return for this one either (maybe a great choice 'cause the script sucked). i hope Chris Angel won't be directing more Wishmaster, because he have nearly destroyed the Wishmaster series - the third was OK but no more, the fourth was awful really awful. Well if their is ever gonna be fifth movie bring back Divoff or do a "Wishmaster VS Wishmaster" (Divoff VS Novak). don't make the mistake i did - to buy this DVD.

suprisingly good!

The Wishmaster sequels havent been too good, the second was average but basically just ripped the same plot from the original and the third I didnt even bother watching because of how bad the trailer was, BUT Im glad too say Wishmaster 4 is a good sequel!

The story was good although the warrior angle was crap and unnecessary. The Djinn was fine, although not as good as Divoff .. the acting was good from all and didnt feel like a cheap sequel. Add in some Gore and Nudity and you have a nice horror film thats better then recent Cinema releases!

Only two downsides was the ending could have been better and the warrior scene was crap (thankfully it didnt take up much of the film)

It seems John Novak has a better handle on being the Djinn than he did in the previous movie. Wishmaster III was horrible, so I had serious reservations on watching this one. However, it wasn't too bad. Not as good as the first two (Andrew Divoff was amazing), but I quite enjoyed this one. The heroine is nice eye candy and the dialogue isn't too hammy. Even a Djinn can find love!

It's not strong enough to deliver on it's ambitions, but I applaud the effort

For three years, Lisa & Sam have a very healthy marriage, full of love and prosperity. This all changes when Sam gets into a motorcycle accident, confined to a wheelchair. Sam feels that Lisa pities him and treats Lisa like dirt, feeling sorry for himself. Lisa gets close with Steven Verdel and gives Sam even more to complain about. When The Djinn is unleashed and takes over Steven Verdel's body, The Djinn falls in love with Lisa and things get complex when Lisa's third wish is a paradox "I wish I could love you for who you really are"

I'm gonna give this movie a lot of credit. I really wanted to like it badly and I did to a certain extent. For a STV sequel, this really tries to be more than just a STV sequel that wants to pick up some quick cash on video. They turned a meaningless STV sequel into something that is perfectly watchable, yet limited at the same time. It's very ambitious for the low budget and there is many story lines that are intriguing, so the fun factor is definitely here at times. Lisa and Sam's love storyline is legitimately tragic and well done. The writers put a lot of emphasis on this storyline and manage to keep you engaged with it. It does enough to make you wanna root for them to get back as a couple. Unfortunately, it doesn't fully manage to do that because of one sole reason. Sam's abrasive attitude is almost impossible to get behind. I'd be bitter if I couldn't walk as well, but there was no excuse for him to treat Lisa the way he did. This woman goes above and beyond for him and it still isn't enough. If that's not enough, Sam gets to walk again after a wish from Lisa and he is STILL whiny and ungrateful. Get over it and man up! Nothing would please this guy and it got on my nerves after a while. The Djinn himself is a little too corny. His makeup is laughable and John Novak is no Andrew Divoff. This movie has a mean streak. As much as I complained about it, Sam getting to walk again, only to have it taken away from him? Wow! Talk about cruelty. The violence is strong in this one as well. A tongue is ripped out, a face is cut into, a nose is cut off, a woman gets decapitated with a sword. We also get sword impailings, fingers broken in graphic detail and more. Tara Spencer-Nairn is well known for her role in Corner Gas, but she's also a pretty solid actress. I loved her as the lead. She's sympathetic, likable, vulnerable, but strong-willed. Horror fans will love her. Michael Trucco is suave in human form as the Djinn. Jason Thompson does well, but his character is so abrasive and whiny that he is very unsympathetic, as I explained above. I thought the ending was a tad anti- climatic as ell

Final Thoughts: I liked this movie for what it was. It doesn't exactly pull of what it's trying to do, but it deserves to be lauded for the effort. Not everyone will feel the same way as me, but this is far from the STV trash that people say it is. It's very flawed and nothing special, but the effort is there. It's worth a watch

After seeing the third movie, which was abominable, I didn't think it could get much worse with the fourth (and hopefully last) movie in the Wishmaster series. Unfortunately I was wrong, not only was it bad this time, but it was boring as hell too! As someone stated before, the abundant (and redundant) use of nudity (well, for American standards anyway) seems to try and cover up how bad this movie really is. I found it to be more enjoyable to read some of the other comments about this movie. The comments from the person who actually thinks there's a deeper meaning to this movie and was happily surprised to see the 'softer' side of the Djinn really made my day.

If you enjoy watching a plethora of fake fire effects, this is your movie, if not, don't even bother.

Much better than the awful third outing. Wishmaster 4 does have a lot going for it, even though it doesn't have the means to execute all of its ideas. Wishmaster 4 sees the third wish get made, but it's a wish that causes conflict within the Djinn. A woman wishes to love him for who he is, which contradicts the whole of a wish. This is an interesting set-up and it also brings around other Djinn waiting to be released, causing even more conflict. One of the main characters happens to be a whiny cripple. One the kind that I'm sure mostly exist in films. It's an annoying character and hurts the romance stuff that's going on. The action isn't particularly well shot, which is a shame since we have some Djinn hunter and a sword fight or two. The gore is pretty nasty at times, so overall, this is the same old dumb fun.

Takes a dive in the third round....

I would have rated this at five stars if it hadn't turned so bad so quickly. The first 45 minutes or so are not too shabby, picking up on the whole djinn mythos from the original film. Overall, this film is a lot less violent and, correspondingly, less interesting and imaginative.

My biggest complaint is that the writers apparently got tired and just gave up. For example, we get introduced to both other djinns and a character who is a "hunter" of djinns. The hunter, who makes an interesting entrance as he is revived to battle the djinns and save the world, is actually pretty bad at his job, getting himself killed by a single djinn about three minutes after they meet. I mean, it's just silly. Why even introduce the character if he's no threat to the djinns (and can't act worth beans)?

The whole enterprise is just dumb and not worthwhile.

Wost Wishmaster EVER!!!!

The third was bad, but this is total garbage. We have Angels murdering people. I can understand killing Lisa, the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the one and all that. But what about that poor lady at the flower shoppe, who the "Angel" murders just to keep her from calling the police. To kill to obtain your goal with mercy is what the Djinn does and to have the Hunter do the same thing as the evil Djinn makes him evil too. I don't believe an angel, even an Archangel would go around murdering people just to stop a Djinn. Besides, a Djinn is a Djinn and a demon is a demon. I give this mega loser the NOOSE! Don't waste your time or money on this mess of a sequel, I can see why Chris Angel never worked as a Director again.

Pure Garbage !

We get another Wishmaster sequel and this one is the worst of them all . John Novak plays The Wishmaster in this one and he sucks just as bad as his horrid dialogue . The rest of the cast isn't much better.

It seems this movie had a ultra low budget because there are only three effects in this one that actually work , the rest look cheap.

This movie is to be avoided at all costs !

Please not a fifth sequel !!!

Well pretty much about the same as for the 3rd sequel, from bad till even much much worse!!! Edit mistakes, as once again an uninteresting poor storyline with the same actor in the Djinn outfit "John Novak". He will bore the hell outa you! Once again bad casting. As also the fact they knew how to succeed in it again! A very weak and poor disappointing ending AGAIN! I really ask myself by times why they even bother to make movies like this? I think people who like or love these kind of movies maybe can help me out and please contact me and fill me in on what I am missing in these bad horror flicks! I would be thankful for a possible insight view on why I don't love these garbage flicks but actually hate films like this. There must be audience around who loves these flicks. How the hell can you give this movie a 10 outa 10? Well I will seek comfort in the knowledge that "tastes differ" and luckily for that would I say. I know if I want some quality time; I'll choose the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" instead! (by the way for those who don't get it, that's a cynical remark!)

More of a romance than a horror!

Another straight-to-DVD movie in the Wishmaster series, and probably the last considering its subtitle, although I'd welcome a fifth. John Novak (Wishmaster 3) returns as the Djinn, for the little time he's onscreen, in this horror/romance flick. Unlike the other WM movies, this has strong central characters and the Djinn took a "Pinhead from Hellraiser V" turn and spent most of his time offscreen, while the relationship between the two characters grew. There isn't too many wishes in this one either, but when there is, they make the wait worthwhile. (Watch out for "I wish for some KILLER sex" haha). Also, the opening is not simply the Djinn stone being found again, it's a young couple having sex. The first killing is hilarious though, ("Now I"m not the one holding a gun to your head") but the killings/wishes are basically too far stretched out. Wishmaster 3 had lots of killings but they usually didn't have too much gore. Wishmaster 4 is the opposite - few killings but lots of GORE. I'm telling ya, this is as much of a romance as it is a horror - even the tagline is "Evil Has Never Been So Seductive"! Go on out and rent this, or if you're a collector like myself then buy it (7/10)

It's worse than Wishmaster 3

Having watched Wishmaster 3 last night I sat down to watch the concluding movie in the series with strangely high hopes as IMDB had this as a 4* whereas wish 3 was a 3*. That was an evil trick to pull on me. There is nothing good to say about this movie. It is a pile of rubbish. I have rated over 2,700 movies, this is only my 14th 1 star rating. Enough said.

Pleasant surprise

After watching Part 3 of Wishmaster I expected another dumb and boring so called horrormovie. Especially when I saw that it was produced for Pay TV only. But I was wrong. I saw great and beautiful actors (especially Lisa, well known from several TV series) a great Djinn (the voice let you feel like you have needles under your skin) and also good co-actors. The difference between Part 2,3 and 4 is that the effects and music were done in a much better way. I never had the feeling that it was produced for HBO, instead for the Big Screen. I also had the opportunity to saw the German demo-tape. The Audio-SFX seemed to sound even fatter than in the English version. Also the voice of the Djinn is an extremely good choice. Watch and enjoy. Two thumbs up!

Wish it had a good script

What can you expect of the 4th chapter of a series that only the first movie got into the big screen ? I really didn't expect too much. This movie is gory then parts 2 and 3 together and also has some very pleasant nude/sex scenes. I only wish it had a good script. That Terminator character called "The Hunter" has nothing to do with this movie and his sword fight with the Djinn was completely out of plot. This isn't highlander. Though it lacks a better script, it's a better movie than Wishmaster 2 and 3. Of course it's worst than the original, but until now it's the best sequel of the series.

I'm a fan of horror movies, and I've seen quite a few of them. When I first heard of this new movie called Wishmaster,and got a chance to see it, I was thrilled. good movie, good story,and enough gore to make it a decent horror movie. Then, the sequel followed, and I was happy with that one too. Then, i saw the 3rd and fourth ones. Boy, were those a waste of money to rent. Not only did the story make no sense,but whoever wrote these pieces of cinematic garbage paid no attention whatsoever to the previous entries,and changed the rules of what the Djinn could and couldn't do. And then making him a love-struck demon who was torn between loving the heroine,and not opening the gate between realms to free his race upon the Earth,as he was trying to do in the last three entries. Then after seeing the credits after 90 plus minutes of this drivel,and seeing that is was made in Canada, I knew that the series was dead. The only really good horror movies made in Canada were Scanners,and the original Black Christmas. These are embarrassments to the series,and the first two are the best,and will always be,and are movies that you can watch over and over again.
