Die Hard in a minute
A fun summary of Die Hard in just one minute, done seven years before the 30-Second Bunnies Theatre popularized the concept of brief, humorous movie recaps on the internet.

It's still amusing to watch, even after all this time.

Not worth the bronze medal even

"Die Hard" is of course an action classic from the 80s, but here we have Russian animation filmmaker's approach to the subject in under 120 seconds, in under 90 even. It was released back in 1997, so it is 20 years old now and from the earlier stages, but not earliest, of Bronzit's career, definitely way before his 2 Oscar nominations though. The siomple black-and-white animation (with occasional inclusion of color) style is easy to recognize, especially in terms of the characters. if you have seen Lavatory Lovestory for example, then you will immediately recognize Bronzit's style. As for the story, there isn't too much to say. It is all about reenacting Die Hard in a funny way, obviously rushed given the runtime. It's a nice little tribute I guess maybe by Bronzit to one of his favorite films, but in terms of originality and creativity, I am not too sold here overall. I am not sure if you must really love Die Hard or find it really overrated in order to enjoy this one. For me neither is true I guess, so I cannot say. But it somehow got me in the mood to rewatch Die Hard at some point in the near future, so at least that's something. Nonetheless, overall, I have to give this one a thumbs-down too. As a parody, it is simply not good enough to make an impact no matter if we are talking the comedy perspective or any other. I'm glad it was this short. Not recommended.
