ABC is in the early stages of developing a Watergate-themed limited series about Richard Nixon's 1970s White House burglary and subsequent scandal.
Jon Maas ("The Last Debate") is penning the project which is said to have a thriller tone and unfolds the story through the eyes of John Dean, the then-White House counsel for President Nixon. Thinking he's nabbed the job of a lifetime, he soon discovers he's being set up to become the fall guy for the president.
Entertainment One and Storyscape Entertainment will produce with Maas, Bob Cooper, Dan Halsted, Eric Hamburg and Jeff Field serving as executive producers.
