Wonderful comedy!

Excellent comedy. This film is still "lost" at the time of writing but reviews suggest that is one of the best of that period. I've examined the cutting continuity of THE FIGHT PEST and it is a riot. Charley Chase plays an unusual character for him: a despicable guy in the first reel, a boxing hero in the second's. I don't reveal the finish of this gem - but the history of this film, nevertheless, deserves much attention. THE FIGHT PEST was filmed from February 28 to March 8 of the year 1928. Fred Guiol - that in 1926 was at the helm of DUCK SOUP, the first Laurel and Hardy starring short - in the meantime directed others great comedies at Hal Roach studios, but I believe this is his chef d'oeuvre. A partial remake of THE FIGHT PEST, THE HECKLER, directed by Del Lord in 1940, turns out to be one of the highest sound shorts that the great Charley Chase had performed in his career.
