As the Undertaker announces his retirement, we look back at his Wrestlemania record...

WrestleMania XXX was an eventful show. It calmed the fears of those afraid that it would crash the WWE Network and cause major damage to the company's latest venture. Cesaro broke away from his tag team and broke out by winning the Andre the Giant Memorial Trophy. Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin, and the Rock hung out in the ring and had a blast. Mr. T and Roddy Piper buried the hatchet. Daniel Bryan went through an endless supply of punishment before being defeating Triple H, Randy Orton, and Batista.
That was a big moment and a major story, but the thing people will be talking about for a long time is the end of Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar. For the first time ever, Undertaker lost at...

WWE has been built on a foundation of dastardly heels and all-conquering babyfaces. Granted, these days it seems that about 80% of the roster flits far too often from one role to another, or simply just gets a nonplussed reaction no matter what they do (hey, Sheamus!).
Whilst their roles and characters may have changed over the years, there are some special performers who are equally as fantastic at being a no-good bad guy or a baby-kissing good guy. It’s a tough act to be able to pull off both personas to a high standard, but it’s certainly not impossible.
Now many fans have been crying out for a Roman Reigns heel turn for the past few months, with the rationale there being that a solid run as a great, cocky, natural heel would do wonders for Roman and cause him to transform into the man when he...

Throughout wrestling history, there have been a literal ton of matches which grappling fans have desperately wanted to see. Some of these, such as Hulk Hogan vs. Ric Flair, would eventually take place, albeit in other companies – whereas Hogan and Flair wouldn’t meet as initially proposed at WrestleMania VIII, they would finally clash when Hulk joined WCW in 1994.
Since it became public news that Sting had signed with WWE in 2014, the idea of the “Dream Match”, a bout so tasty that it should come with an after dinner mint, has started to be talked about once more. Many were under the impression that should Sting ever join WWE, his automatic first choice opponent would be The Undertaker, but now that bout is in danger of never happening at all.
There have been so many matches which – whilst they would have been unbelievable – just didn’t happen. The reasons are varied,...

If at first you don’t succeed, then try, try again…..and again….and again. This seemed to be the motto amongst WWE & WCW in regards to the Ultimate Warrior back in the 1990s. As we all know, the man was on absolute fire in the late 80′s, reaching a summit that virtually no one else had, defeating Hulk Hogan clean during his hey-day. At WrestleMania no less.
However, the torch that was passed that night was more like a matchstick, as The Warrior disappeared following a money dispute over the 1991 SummerSlam main event. Months later he would return during WrestleMania VIII in order to help out the Hulkster, and then feud with Papa Shango. Of course, we all know the truth, as the real Warrior had died and this was a look-a-like. But I digress. He was soon gone again, and wouldn’t be seen for another...

Hulk Hogan has been in the business for thirty years and has remained a huge draw throughout that entire period. He was chosen to host WrestleMania XXX, which is an honour Vince McMahon would not offer up lightly; sure he made it clear that he didn’t know where the hell he was, which Austin and The Rock hilariously grilled him for throughout their entire segment, but you get the point. Hulkamania was and still is a big deal.
Though within a thirty year period it is hard to remain everybody’s friend and subsequently Hogan made a lot of enemies. There are various reasons as to why Hogan was unpopular amongst his colleagues; some envied his success, others hated the strength of his backstage influence and certain people have even publicly recited backstage tales of times when they have felt as though Hulk Hogan has let them down personally.

WrestleMania XXX has come and gone, but the anticipation for the next extravaganza is never too far removed from the wrestling enthusiast’s mind. Part of the allure of “The Granddaddy of Them All” is the memories shaped by WrestleMania’s past. No setting has produced as many classic matches that come to define a person’s wrestling fandom.
After a few weeks of processing the happenings of the latest “Showcase of the Immortals,” it is time for the annual update to the list of WrestleMania’s greatest matches. Did any matches from Mania XXX make the cut?
30. Bret Hart vs. Rowdy Roddy Piper – WrestleMania VIII

After about a month of taking in what the WWE Network has to offer I thought we could take a look at some of the things that are worth your time on there, and even just to pick up on DVD. Every PPV event from WWE(F), WCW and Ecw is included on the on-demand section of the network, which means there is hundreds of shows and thousands of hours worth of wrestling to dig through, so I wanted to whittle it down to ten shows that I feel are worth watching, and the reasons will be highlighted too.
Let’s begin with an obvious one shall we?
WWE: WrestleMania 1
Held in Madison Square Garden in New York City, the very first WWF pay-per-view ever presented and a show that lit the fuse on the rocket that became sports entertainment and the concept of pay-per-view. The show isn’t...

We are fast approaching the 30th annual WrestleMania event and it is the time of year when many wrestling fans look back on the famous event and revisit the moments that, for whatever reason, were memorable to them. Through the years there have been plenty of memorable moments at WrestleMania and dozens of wrestlers have carved themselves into the tree-bark of history with their performance on the grandest stage in professional wrestling. One of those wrestlers, of course, is the man who called himself “The Heartbreak Kid” and was labelled by fans and critics alike as “Mr WrestleMania”. That man is Shawn Michaels, and this DVD/Blu-ray package is about his legacy on WWE’s main stage.
Shawn Michaels made his WrestleMania debut as part of The Rockers tag team with Marty Jannetty to take on The Twin Towers in 1989 at the fifth annual show, and his last wrestling appearance...

With WrestleMania XXX just over a month away, the top of the card is largely set; whether the matches have been announced on TV (Orton v. Batista, Undertaker v. Lesnar) or teased to the point where it’s safe to say they’re written in stone (Bryan v. Hhh, Cena v. Wyatt), we’ve got a good idea as to what the fans who will pack the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on April 6 are going to witness.
WrestleMania has always been about the biggest card WWE can offer – and especially over the past ten years, the company has strived to make sure that the marquee matches are exciting, interesting, and just a little bit different than anything we’ve seen before. However, sometimes the path to getting there is twisted; real-life situations, such as injuries and disputes, can get in the way – resulting in card changes and new stories being told. With...

“It’s the most wonderful time of the year….”
The classic Andy Williams Christmas tune has double meaning for wrestling fans. December brings good tidings of holiday cheer and also means that WrestleMania Season is just around the corner. Right after we ring in the New Year, we will be on The Road to The Royal Rumble. Since the WWE has established such strong connections between The Royal Rumble and WrestleMania, the RAWs and Smackdowns prior to the January Classic have essentially become the first stops on The Road to WrestleMania. There is not a better time to be a wrestling fan than the few months leading up to “The Showcase of the Immortals.”
2014 will offer up the 30th WrestleMania and all signs point to the record 22nd match of, perhaps, WrestleMania’s most celebrated and successful superstar, The Undertaker. Since 1991′s WrestleMania VII, The Deadman has dominated the grandest stage in WWE,...

Containing elements of athletic competition, show business and performance magic, professional wrestling is a secretive world of handshakes, industry-jargon and solid, unflinching dedication to a craft that thrills the dedicated fan as much as it bewilders the casual onlooker.
It isn’t a straight fight; that much ought to be obvious to anyone who’s ever been in an actual fight, but then again, it certainly isn’t the phoney baloney silliness that many people deride it as either. Pro wrestling is as hard (or harder) than any other sport on this Earth. It has no off-season and wrestlers routinely work while struggling with injuries that would send a bus driver or office worker into early retirement (no, I’m not exaggerating).
Because this insular world of performance art was so secretive for so many years (some would-be wrestlers even had their eyes gouged out by overzealous pros looking to...

Wrestlemania is known as the grandest stage of them all, the showcase of immortals and the place where legends are made. But not every match that makes the show is worthy of its spot on the card. For every Ricky Steamboat Vs Macho Man Randy Savage or Undertaker Vs Shawn Michaels match there’s some other garbage contest stinking up the arena and confusing the Hell out of the audience as to why it wasn’t simply on an episode of Superstars … in the 1990′s.
What Culture looks back over the near 3o year history of WWE’s premier PPV and brings you 5 matches that had no place ever appearing on the card. Hold on to your hats, it isn’t going to be pretty.
5. “The Rocket” Owen Hart vs Skinner – Wrestlemania VIII

WrestleMania! The grandest stage of them all. The platform for wrestlers to leave their mark on the profession they love. Unfortunately for some wrestlers though, WrestleMania has been a platform to leave the wrong kind of mark.
Here’s our list of 5 of the worst, most embarrassing moments in the history of WrestleMania.
5. The Undertaker ‘Hangs’ Big Bossman (WrestleMania Xv)
Growing up myself and my sister always had a rivalry as to who was better. She foolishly thought The Undertaker was the greatest of all time (even then) while I knew the greatest wrestler on the WWF roster was The Big Bossman. Sadly the two legends paths never seemed to cross so we never resolved our feud. That was until they met at Wrestlemania Xv when they fought it out in possibly the shortest Hell in a Cell match ever … maybe Undertaker’s worst ‘Mania match ever? So how do...

Professional wrestling and the entertainment community in general has lost a legend.
Randall Mario Poffo, better known to the world as Randy “Macho Man” Savage, died today after reportedly crashing his car into a tree subsequent losing control of the vehicle. His wife also was in the car, but only suffered minor injuries. He was a young 58 years old.
Savage, along with Hulk Hogan, played a huge role in popularizing professional wrestling during the 1980s. The two, with their larger-than-life personalities often duked it out during the days of the WWF (World Wrestling Federation). Savage was especially known for his loud, raspy voice, his flamboyant choice of attire and his theme song, Pomp and Circumstance, typically played at graduations of all sorts.
And who can forget his turn as Slim Jim ambassador? During commercials, he would often exclaim his catch phrase, “Need a little excitement? Snap in to a Slim Jim!
