The one and only

This is a masterpiece. Meat Loaf in a quiet surrounding, in fact a locker room, with about 100 fans rocks the house completely. He chews his gigantic gum all the time, but the music is as sweet as ever. The scene where he lures two fans up to perform the "third base scene" in Paradise by the dashboard light is great. All his greatest classics are included

not his greatest singing effort

I watched this cause it's meatloaf and I was disappointed by his performance, sitting on that bench chewing on a piece of gum constantly. What redeems it was the instrumentals. The music was brilliant and the piano and guitar solos, variations from the original compositions, beautiful. I really enjoyed this performances version of 'bat out of hell' but the song was marred for me by a shockingly disastrous out of tune final note sung by meatloaf, utterly the wrong choice of note to finish on. I would recommend this to meatloaf fans and non fans, Jim Steinman's music certainly was a masterpiece. This proves what some people have said, that meatloaf's voice lost some of it's potency as he lot the weight, or it could just be him ageing or the effects of the years of drug use.

this is a beautiful display of meat loaf's intimate and completely dedicated relationship with his fans. he is spectacular. his voice alone demands respect, but he puts everything together with his amiable personality and putting his absolute best into EVERY performance. you dont get much better than meat loaf. there will NEVER be another.

Meat Loaf at his best
Keld Petersen (Kingkeld)14 August 2000
Bought the DVD yesterday, and haven't seen it yet! Well I am listening to a Minidisc of the soundtrack at work - and I am stunned by it!!! I put it on disks so I could listen to it as fast as possible, and without even seen any pictures this ranks very very high on my music favorite list.

Tons of good rock songs and ballads, and great stories. Meatloaf is a great storyteller, and what he tells is interesting and relevant - and sometimes funny as hell... Can't wait to hear it again and watch the pictures along with it... :-) My rock'n'roll dreams definately came through on this one...
