Sex & Nudity

  • Despite this animation compilation having been rated PG by MPAA, female nudity is present in "Cosmic Cartoon". This is proven in the surrealistic scene in which a naked woman jumps from an ocean and dances for a while.
  • In "A Short Story of the Wheel", a scantily clad woman can be seen for a couple of seconds.
  • In "Cat's Cradle" (French; Au bout du fil), a woman's breasts can be seen, but they're not drawn explictly.
  • In "Nightbird" (French: Oiseau de nuit), a night bird appears to be naked, as we can briefly see breasts. Nothing explicit.

Violence & Gore

  • In "Icarus", a man falls down from a pile of stones and lies flat for a while, but doesn't die.
  • In "The Last Cartoon Man", the man's talking head lies on the floor, while his body stumbles on a chair, and collides with lots of other stuff off-screen. This is all made for comedy.
  • "Cat's Cradle" (French: Au bout du fil) has some mild comical violence throughout: Characters are swallowed by a creature; A character is blown up; A plane crashlands and explodes; A man hanging on threads like a puppet is cut loose, and falls off-screen; A man is hanged by a spider.
  • In "Kick Me", the protagonist is being chased and pursued by a shark and a basketball/spider monster.

Profanity

  • In "The Mechanical Monsters", Lois Lane calls Clark Kent a "fool".
  • In "Closed Mondays", "usual crap" can be read on the sign in the beginning. A man utters "what the hell".

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • In "Closed Mondays", the man appears to be drunk, as he is seen carrying his alcohol bottle constantly.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • "Cat's Cradle" is basically both surreal and somewhat bizarre. Some younger kids may find some scenes kinda confusing. But there is nothing intense or frightening.
  • "Nightbird" (French: Oiseau de nuit) is both haunting, melancholy, and possibly the darkest short animation in the entire compilation. Some people may find this one kinda emotionally intense and sad.
  • "Room and Board" is basically a bizarre short film which may kinda disturb some younger kids.
  • "Bambi Meets Godzilla": This ain't Disney's Bambi.
  • For "Light", unless some younger people may find some of the lights and soundtrack kinda creepy, there is nothing frightnening/intense in this experimental short to worry about.
  • In "The Mechanical Monsters", a villain threatens to send Lois Lane down into boiling metal.
  • "Mirror People" is quite bizarre. Some elements may be kinda disturbing or confusing for younger kids.
  • In "Kick Me", the protagonist is being chased and pursued by a shark and a basketball/spider monster.
  • Regarding the last segment "Closed Mondays", some kids may find the scene with the talking machine kinda creepy, as this is one of the hallucinations the man has.
  • This motion picture has been rated PG by the MPAA.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • In "Nightbird" (French: Oiseau de nuit), a night bird has been killed at the end, and we see the wings having been nailed into poles.
  • In "Room and Board", the protagonist in the room dies as an old man before the door gets opened.
  • In "Bambi Meets Godzilla", Bambi gets crushed by the foot of Godzilla.
  • In "Mountain Music", an earthquake occurs for a while, followed by a volcano eruption which causes a rock band to die and the forest to be covered in lava. It is implied that the animals shown earlier could have died too.
  • "The Mechanical Monsters" has many scenes of mild violence throughout: Planet Krypton explodes; A museum has been robbed by some mechanical monsters; Several people try to shoot a mechanical monster without any luck; Some fighting between Superman and mechanical monsters; A villain pours boiling metal over Superman and Lois Lane, who survive under Superman's cape.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • In "Mountain Music", the earthquake and volcano eruption near the end may surprise some people, but may kinda scare some younger children a bit. It's all clay animated.
