A wonderful mix of music, dance and drama
pmarmo113 September 2004
This movie depicts a story of poor players of "taranta", an ethnic dance very popular in the south of Italy. What makes the movie very powerful is the plot involving drug addiction and illegal sigarette traffic between Italy and Albania, dance and music performance. Remarkable is the strong character played by Pino Zimba, a non professional actor that is one of the most valuable Italian taranta players. At the end the power of music wins over every other things and these all non professional actors, speaking a very strict Pugliese dialect (the movie comes with Italian subtitles) deserves a very warm applause for their performance
