The story in "Bet Your Life" is too simple to get very much out of it, although this short feature does a reasonable job of stretching it out enough to make it worth seeing without pushing it to the point where it would become annoying. It's hardly among the better of Leon Errol's short features, but it's not that bad, either.
The story starts with Leon buying a sweepstakes ticket, while trying to prevent his wife and boss from finding out about it. Most of what happens from there is pretty predictable, but Errol and the rest of the cast do a decent enough job of making it as entertaining as it could be. There have been modern movies that tried to squeeze a full-length feature out of even flimsier premises, and in comparison this one is reasonably well-made and moderately entertaining.
