A truly excellent road trip.
memetic_legacy21 October 2002
It's Bill and Ted meets Chicken Run, it's Dumb and Dumber meets Wallace and Grommit, The Odd Couple meets Road Trip meets Southpark. This show is a must-see that really hasn't gained the credit that it deserves. Two guys set off on a road trip having lost their car, their money, and their plans. Standard road trip fare except that, being animated, they can get away with much more than would ever be possible normally.

Gary and Mike are back in Town! :^)))))))))

This show used to be the ONLY reason why I'd watch UPN, and ever since it got cancelled, I never went back.

But it's on Comedy Central, allbeit at the usual ungodly hour they place mature cartoons at. But for them, I'd drink that extra bottle of Mountain Dew anyday!

On the surface, it seems like your mundane, out of the bottle "Odd Couple"-esque sitcom which featured a dorky, conservative Gary and a wild free spirit named Mike. What puts them apart is that they kept doubling on that concept, and doubling it, and doubling it, and doubling it, and doubling it until you have a product which you can't help but forsake the need for oxygen and laugh the night away.

Typical episode: Gary thinks Mike is a third wheel and decides to split up with him. Mike ends up being laid by several underwear models while old hapless Gary ends up trying to escape from a bunch of underworld freaks who lives in the sewers. How that could possibly happen, you need to see the episode for yourself.

***** out of ***** It's too bad all the good shows get the axe.

Somebody PLEASE revive this show!

Warning: Spoilers
I grew up on UPN (R. I. P.) but I don't remember this show existing. When its existence was brought to my attention last year, it caught my eye that it was animated by the same studio that made Eddie Murphy's "The PJs", which is a hilarious show! One episode into this and I was HOOKED! Gary and Mike make the most unlikely of friends, and I found myself feeling sorry for Gary for having such an idiot friend like Mike (who was the catalyst for most of the show's dilemmas) and don't get me started on Gary's nutty father. It's got the perfect amount of slapstick and wit. I was so upset when I hit the last episode because more than 20 years after its end and THAT WAS IT. It's been said that the studio didn't have the budget to make more episodes, hopefully in the near future this can be revived so we'll see what happened after the big chase at the end.

Highly recommend if you like stop motion and adult animated comedies! Check it out on the web!

Warning: Spoilers
the show was awesome! as well i cant believe they took it off the air. i remember the last episode when they flew off the bridge holding hands. what a way to end not only the season. but the whole show! terrible... i really think they should come out with a DVD as well. i mean really. who wouldn't want to own this. its amazing. if anyone does figure out where to get some episodes then please let me know. i've been trying to find some most everywhere for years. i liked how it didn't teeter on the verge of going over the line, but instead it was like that time you were pulled over for drinking and driving and asked to walk the line, all over the place.

Two guys, a car, no money, what could go wrong?
StlBlade16 February 2001
Everything, usually with hilarious results. In this series, a take off of Jack Kerouac's On The Road, 'nice normal' Gary gets hooked up with Mike 'the friend from hell' on a cross country odyssey to find themselves. Mike talks Gary into abandoning the traditional roadtrip following Lewis and Clark's expedition in favor of a new trip, while Mike himself is just trying to escape the father of a girl he 'made friends' with on the morning of her wedding to another boy. With a start like this, it's no surprise that they usually find trouble rather than enlightenment, especially since Officer Dick (the girl's father) is following along to claim a large portion of Mike's hide.

On the way they meet everything from pyromaniac hippies to Klingon speaking hookers to Mole People to Mike's brother. Each story seems crazier than the last with no end in sight. Gary wants to lose his virginity to 'the right woman' while Mike is willing to take whoever's next, ideally 'fixing' Gary's condition at the same time. They go on television, jump from planes, run from Rabbis, and eat food stored in their glove box. And they never ever look back to home.

Comedy for ages 13+

This show is about two guys traveling around the country in a car they got just after two fat people just had it in the car. Mike is way too uptight and really wants to grow up on this trip. Gary is a free loading guy who just mooches off Mike in a big way. My hero. Their life revolves around funny circumstances that would be horrible to any real person, I think that's why it's great their in clay. It's the only way to keep reminding you that it's funny because they're not real. Sit back for a great ride with the not so flamboyant Gary and Mike. As Television show goes this is just about the best one I've seen in a long time.
