Professor Spencer Hale : [reading a Pokemon book to his daughter] These are legendary Pokemon, Molly. Lots of people believe in them, even though they've never seen them. And in this book, the artist imagined what some of them might look like.
Molly Hale : This is the one you're looking for, right?
Professor Spencer Hale : Yes, I've been looking for it since... For a long time now.
Molly Hale : It looks funny. There's Entei! Entei looks a little scary to me.
Professor Spencer Hale : But you like Entei. Entei's real big and strong, but it's still nice.
Molly Hale : Just like you are, Papa.
Professor Spencer Hale : I'm like Entei, am l? lmagine that. Well, then I am Entei!
Molly Hale : You're Entei!
[they wrestle playfully]

Entei : [having first materialized, courtesy of the Unown] Are you the one that has called me here?
Molly Hale : [notices the brown Pokemon before her] Are you my...
Entei : I am Entei.
Molly Hale : [recognizes him at once] Papa, it's you! You look just like the Entei in the storybook but it's you! Papa!
[runs to her newfound father figure and hugs him]
Molly Hale : Papa.
Entei : Papa? If that is what you wish.

Entei : [during the fight over Molly] What is this?
Ash Ketchum : My friend Charizard.
Entei : Your friend?
Pikachû : Pika!
[Charizard then breathes some fire]
Ash Ketchum : All of my Pokémon are my friends. We all work together like a family.
Molly Hale : [realizing what Ash is talking about] A family?
Entei : Then I will defeat your family too!

Delia Ketchum : Molly, wake up, Molly, wake up.
Molly Hale : [she does just that] I was dreaming, Mama.
Delia Ketchum : Molly, listen to me.
[the imaginative girl senses that something is wrong]
Delia Ketchum : I'm very sorry, Molly, but I'm not your real mama. I'm really Ash's mother.
Ash Ketchum : [having fond memories] Don't you remember when we played together, Molly? We were at Professor Oak's house in Pallet Town.
Delia Ketchum : We'll talk about it later, but we have to go.
Molly Hale : But why?
[backs away in shock]
Delia Ketchum : We have to leave now, Molly.
Molly Hale : [heartbroken for the deception] I won't. I won't. No!
[as she shouts in disbelief, crystals form around her; this is work of the Unown reading Molly's sadness]
Ash Ketchum : Hey, Mom! Mom, are you okay?
Delia Ketchum : I'm fine.
Ash Ketchum : Come on, let's go.
Entei : [materializing in front of the lonesome girl] What is it, Molly?
Molly Hale : [still not convinced] Papa, that boy is taking Mama away.
Delia Ketchum : [a crystal blocks her path] Ash, help!
Ash Ketchum : Mom! Mom!
Entei : [confronting Ash] Leave her here and leave this place.
Ash Ketchum : I won't do that, Entei. She's my mother.
Pikachû : Pika!
Entei : No, now she is Molly's mother.
Ash Ketchum : Well, she's coming with me.
Entei : She is staying here. Leave this place or you will be made to leave.
Ash Ketchum : That's what you think!
[a fierce battle ensues]

Entei : [having bested Ash] Now have I proven that I am real?
Ash Ketchum : You're the illusion of an Entei, dreamed up by this little girl!
Molly Hale : You're wrong, Ash. You're wrong!
[crystals form around the fighters]
Entei : I am no illusion!
[roars in fury]
Entei : I am this girl's father, and I must protect her.

Molly Hale : [having fought the good fight with Misty] Papa, this makes me so happy.
Entei : I am happy that you are happy
Molly Hale : I love you, Papa.

Entei : [having sacrficed himself to stabilize the Unown's power] I must go now, Molly.
Molly Hale : Entei, I'm going to miss you.
Entei : And I will miss you. Just keep me close in your dreams.
[he vanishes in a spray of sparks]
Molly Hale : [calling out to her departed father figure, just as she had done the first day they met] Papa.
[as the last wisps of Entei clear, the Unown departs, and the mansion changes back to normal]

Molly Hale : [hugging Delia in happy tears, having outgrown her delusions] I want things real again.
[she sees Entei turn away]
Molly Hale : Papa?
Entei : I was created to be the father who could make you happy here. If you would be happier outside, in the real world, I must go.
[suddenly, the tender moment is interrupted by the Unown's power going haywire]

Ash Ketchum : [as they are still fighting over Molly] Please, Entei, listen to me. Don't do this. If you really care about Molly, you'll let her come with us. It's not right for her to stay here with you! You have to let her go!
Entei : Whether it is right or wrong, I will do as she wishes!
[he conjures a fireball]
Ash Ketchum : Flamethrower!
[Charizard fires a flamethrower, but Entei blocks the attack]
Ash Ketchum : We have to do something, Charizard. We have to get Molly out of here.

Ash Ketchum : [as Entei pins Charizard to the floor, preparing to finish him off] Entei, don't.
Entei : This will end it!
[he conjures a fireball and is about to fire]
Molly Hale : [unable to put up with this violence any longer] Stop!
[Entei sheathes his weapon, and Molly tearfully hugs him, realizing that her kind of wishes have had disasterous consequences]
Molly Hale : No more fighting. Please, Papa, no more.
[as she weeps in fright, Entei lets go of Charizard, and the chaos subsides]
Brock : [as the others approach her with pride] You're a great Pokemon trainer, Molly.
Molly Hale : Huh?
Brock : A big part of battling is knowing when to stop.
Misty : You already have the right instincts. I bet you could be a gym leader easy, if you wanted to.
Ash Ketchum : [as the imaginative girl hears her friends' words in awe] You see, Molly? We always battle hard, but we stay friends because we all love Pokemon!
Pikachû : Pika! Pika!

Professor Spencer Hale : [having been summoned to a mission concerning the Unown] I've got to go now, Molly.
Molly Hale : Papa, I'm going to miss you.
Professor Spencer Hale : And I'll miss you. I'll be back just as soon as I can.
[he embraces her daughter]
Professor Spencer Hale : Keep me close in your dreams.
[he tucks her into bed]
Professor Spencer Hale : I love you. Pleasant dreams, Molly.
[he leaves, and Molly goes to sleep, unaware that very soon, all that is about to change]
