WrestleForce is a great way to see live professional wrestling in the UK, with upcoming events every week in Essex. I attended the latest event at the Wick Community Centre in Wickford, which despite the small venue manage to create quite an atmosphere with a sell-out crowd.
The layout of the venue means that the crowd are sectioned onto one side of the ring, but with the limited capacity of the venue, you feel really close to action especially when they bring the fight out to the crowd. It is one of the highlights of watching live wrestling in such as small venues, as you are given an opportunity to have a close interaction with the action. I was on edge for more than one occasion that a child may get accident crushed during one of the fights in the crowd, but thankfully no accidents occurred as the wrestlers frequently brawled between the amazed spectators.

Earlier last month we were given our first look at the brand new WWE 2K18 with a teaser and new cover man Seth Rollins. Today 2K Sports and the WWE have given us new information on some of the game modes and updates to the newest installment to long running series.
First off the Creation Suite is getting even deeper into creating a unique to you atmosphere for professional wrestling. A brand new Create-a-match feature joins the new and improved Create-a-Superstar, Create-a-Arena, and Create-a-Video.
We are also getting a brand new story mode in the MyCAREER mode. This will include a free-roaming backstage area that will allow you to interact with other WWE Superstars. Not only will it help to direct the narrative of the MyCAREER, but it will incorporate a new experience with MyPLAYER, that will add brand new fighting styles and new upgrades to the progressive system we have already come to love.

The following recap, by the very definition of the word “recap,” contains spoilers from the Season 3 finale of The CW’s The Flash.
The Flash‘s Season 3 finale made quick work of “resolving” Iris’ death at the hands of Savitar, by revealing — as speculated by many — that prior to the fateful face-off, H.R. used Savitar’s armor fragment to track down Iris and switch places with her using the facial transmogrifier. Nxt: Takeover: Chicago will air this Saturday on the WWE Network for the first time outside of their quarterly, big four schedule. (The big four I reference of course being the WWE events Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania, Summerslam, and Survivor Series.) Since the Nxt brand has consistently put on some of the best shows of the year for the WWE, I thought we'd take a few minutes to go through the card for the show while I offer some predictions on who may win.

WrestleMania XXX was an eventful show. It calmed the fears of those afraid that it would crash the WWE Network and cause major damage to the company's latest venture. Cesaro broke away from his tag team and broke out by winning the Andre the Giant Memorial Trophy. Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin, and the Rock hung out in the ring and had a blast. Mr. T and Roddy Piper buried the hatchet. Daniel Bryan went through an endless supply of punishment before being defeating Triple H, Randy Orton, and Batista.
That was a big moment and a major story, but the thing people will be talking about for a long time is the end of Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar. For the first time ever, Undertaker lost at...

It’s that time of year again. Wrestlemania is soon upon us. This event has become the most important event in professional wrestling, showcasing the best of the best of the sport putting on the show of their lives. With Wrestlemania appearing this Sunday on the WWE Network, I thought I’d take the time to discuss my ten favorite Wrestlemania matches, matches that to me epitomize everything that is great about the event. Like any list, it is purely subjective so if you disagree with anything or feel I left something out, let’s discuss it in the comments below.
Hulk Hogan vs Andre the Giant- Wrestlemania 3
“The irresistible force meeting the immovable object!”
Without Wrestlemania 3, it’s possible that Wrestlemania could have gone the way of Starrcade. The first two Wrestlemania’s, while star studded and showing some glimpses of what the event eventually became, were more events of their time.

Portland, Oregon is a city rich in history when it comes to professional wrestling. Starting with the territory owned by Don Owens, it saw the rise of performers like Billy Jack Haynes, Jimmy Snuka, and the legendary “Rowdy” Roddy Piper. Today, the big dog in town of course is the WWE. Tonight at the Moda Center, the WWE held Monday Night Raw and I had the pleasure of attending the show live.

An Officer and a Gentleman, The Devil’s Advocate and Ray are just three of the movies in director Taylor Hackford’s illustrious career, although his one Oscar was for a short film he made much earlier in his career.
For Hackford’s latest movie, The Comedian, he directs Robert De Niro as Jackie Burke, a veteran comedian and star of a popular old TV sitcom, who is trying to find a new lease on life, which actually ends up with him being thrown in jail for assaulting a heckler. While doing community service, he meets Leslie Mann’s Harmony and he shares with her his love for stand-up, although her father (Harvey Keitel) doesn’t approve of the relationship.

Monday Night Raw is in the books for another week. One day after the aftermath of the Royal Rumble, the Raw brand finds itself on the Road to Wrestlemania. How did the show fare this week?
One big development is the official challenge from Brock Lesnar to Goldberg for one last match at Wrestlemania. Brock’s advocate, the legendary Paul Heyman, once again did the talking for him which, even on Paul’s worst night, is always a treat to watch.
Heyman’s promo on Raw was the textbook reason why some people need managers. Brock Lesnar, unless he’s in an interview setting, is about as interesting on the mic as watching paint dry. (I say this with confidence because he’s not in the room with me as I write this. If he were to walk into the room right now, I would say ‘Yes Mr. Lesnar, you...

January 24th, 1988 was a great day in wrestling history. On that date, live on the USA Network, the WWE held their first ever Royal Rumble. In classic Vince McMahon fashion, holding this event for free on cable was a way to keep folks from ordering the Bunkhouse Stampede pay per view Jim Crockett Promotions put out that same day. The Royal Rumble match itself was revolutionary. Starting with two performers in the ring, at regularly timed intervals, another performer would come out until, in the case of the 1988 Royal Rumble, all twenty participants were in the ring. The winner of that first Rumble was Hacksaw Jim Duggan.
Fast forward 29 years and here we are at the 30th Royal Rumble. Unlike the Rumble’s that have occurred the past five years, the WWE has done an amazing job of promoting this event. They have some great matches in store as well...

Legends of Tomorrow returned from its winter break on a new night and time but that didn't stop the fun this show has created. Legends of Tomorrow ended is winter break with a bombshell that Rip Hunter has now become a movie director in the late 1960's. With the first half of the season without Rip it seemed the team had accepted the fact that Rip was gone. Little did they know that he was directing a movie with film icon George Lucas as his prop master. While the focus of this episode was split into two stories, both were highly entertaining.
Below are the three takeaways from last nights episode
1. All of the Star Wars and Indiana Jones references and jokes were great. It was also great to see how much of an impact Star Wars and Indiana Jones on Nate and Ray to make them forget their areas of expertise.

We are a few days away from the Royal Rumble. Monday Night Raw is in the books. How did the flagship show for the WWE do this week to prepare the fans for one of their biggest shows of the year?
I really enjoyed the sit down interviews between Bayley and Charlotte Flair, hyping their match for the Raw Women’s Championship at the Royal Rumble. Thinking back ten years ago, women were not given an opportunity to give promos like this. Granted, most of the women the WWE had on the roster ten years ago were more concerned about getting a television show credit on their resume than on performing well in the ring but that’s another story all together. The interview with Bayley did a lot to expand on her character for the casual audience. Nxt fans are well aware of how good she is on the...

Whether or not there has ever been a truly successful video game movie is somewhat up for debate. Sure, there hasn’t been anything on the level of all the Marvel Studios flicks, but there have been a few franchises that have managed to make a name for themselves outside of the video games from which they originated. Mortal Kombat was perhaps the first example of this. Campy, silly, and strangely faithful to the source material, it was a film that many kids in the ‘90s grew up loving. The Resident Evil series is one that, despite its relatively low numbers, has managed to become an entire subfranchise by itself over the past decade.
And of course, we can’t forget the early 2000s and their Tomb Raider films, which modestly succeeded on the name and appeal of its lead, Angelina Jolie. Make no mistake, the movies weren’t testaments of the art of filmmaking.

By and large, comic book movies have been relegated to the family-friendly PG-13 rating. Yes, you have your exceptions, but especially in the superhero genre, studios have found that shooting for a middle-of-the-road PG-13 rating is what results in box office goodness. The rating is mature enough to allow a fitting amount of violence, but not so mature that it limits the younger audience attendance.
Studios settled into this rating 15 or so years ago, and have found very little reason to change it. Then, last February, Deadpool came in and proved that an R-rated film could succeed if handled directly. Perhaps it had less to do with making an R-rated film for an R rating’s sake, but more to do with the character being handled. Eyes then turned to Wolverine, a character, who by all accounts, should be allowed an R-rated film. Would audiences buy into it?
While that remains to be seen,...

Nxt is in the books for another week. They’re building up to their quarterly event Nxt Takeover: San Antonio. This episode saw the contract signing between Bobby Roode and Shinsuke Nakamura for the Nxt Championship at Takeover. We also saw The Revival face off against Tm-61 in a brutal match. We also saw an offer from Eric Young of Sanity to Tye Dillenger. How did this show hold up?
I have to say I am enjoying the Sanity stable led by former Tna star Eric Young. It’s a perfect use for him. Eric is not going to be someone who will go after a major championship in the WWE. That is not a knock against him by any means because not many people get the call to be the top guy. But what he is great at is being a teacher. He can be the veteran who...

Smackdown Live! is in the books for the week. The Blue Brand of the WWE is building up towards the Royal Rumble with their brand specific storylines. We saw the first WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship Cage Match as well as a special edition of The King’s Court with Jerry The King Lawler. How did the show hold up this week?
The show opened with the announcement from Shane McMahon that at the next Smackdown specific Pay Per View event Elimination Chamber, the WWE Championship will be defended by whomever the WWE Champion is at that point. A simple announcement but something the WWE has not been doing consistently as of late, promoting their events properly. We saw Aj Styles come out and complain that he would have to defend his title in the Chamber match with Shane reminding him that he may not have the title after his...

The WWE has announced the first official member of the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2017 and that is none other than the first Olympic Gold Medal winning superstar, Kurt Angle. Starting his career at the 1999 Survivor Series, he went on to become a multiple time World Champion for the company.
Kurt's accomplishments in the ring speak for themselves. From classic matches with the likes of Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, and Shane McMahon, to his classic backstages segments with the likes of Austin, Triple H, and Stephanie McMahon, there was never a dull moment when Kurt Angle was on the screen.
In 2006, Kurt made the move to Tna where he became a multiple time World Champion for that company. He had some classic matches with folks like Sting, Samoa Joe, and Aj Styles. While his run in Tna ended without much fanfare, he was definitely one of the...

[[tmz:video id="0_64ijusdj"]] There will be no comeback for The Heartbreak Kid ... Shawn Michaels tells TMZ Sports he's definitely not wrestling ever again. There's been some rumblings about Michaels possibly coming back to wrestle at the Royal Rumble later this month in Shawn's hometown of San Antonio ... especially after he made an appearance on this week's 'Monday Night Raw.' But, when we saw Shawn in NYC Thursday morning ... he pretty much crushed all hope. Then again, it's wrestling ... so you never know.

If there's one thing that's certain in a business that's all "Never say 'Never'" it's that wrestlers don't tend to stay retired.
The last time the WWE Royal Rumble was in San Antonio, Texas (which happens to be his hometown), "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels successfully defended his World Heavyweight Title against Sycho Sid. The following Thursday, he famously vacated the Championship citing that he'd "lost his smile."
Well, if you saw Hbk on last night's WWE Monday Night Raw, you saw that the man is definitely smiling a lot these days. With the Rumble being back in San Antonio, and with him showing up to deliver some Sweet Chin Music to Rusev last night, Michaels was asked if there's a chance he could be one of this year's "Surprise Entrants" into the Royal Rumble match.
Here's what Hbk said:

Monday Night Raw is in the books for another week and what an eventful show it was. The buildup for the Royal Rumble is in full swing and on this episode, we saw some developments that should make that Pay Per View interesting to say the least.
The biggest news is the fact that The Undertaker made his return to Raw and announced he would be in the Royal Rumble match. This marks his return to the Rumble match after an eight year absence. With the Royal Rumble itself being such a disappointment the past three years, it is great to see the WWE throw some big names into the match. I know one frustration I’ve had the past couple years was due to the outcome of the Rumble being telegraphed well before the show actually happened, it took the suspense of the match and tossed it out the window.

The first Monday Night Raw of the new year brought us some interesting things to talk about. We had a wonderful Last Man Standing match between Sami Zayn vs Braun Strowman which not only made Braun look like a vicious bad ass but gave Sami a much needed boost with the grit and determination he showed in the loss. We had an amazing, yet short, Number One Contender’s match for the Raw Women’s Championship between Nia Jax and Bayley which saw Bayley get the win after Sasha Banks’ music hit causing Nia to become distracted. Yet the end of the show is what really hit me most and not in a good way. It was the debut interview segment of The Kevin Owens Show with his special guest Bill Goldberg.

WWE Nxt saw four men battle for the Number One Contender spot for Shinsuke Nakamura’s Nxt Championship. Bobby Roode, Ty Dillinger, Cien Andrade Almas, and Roderick Strong battled in a pretty decent match that saw Bobby Roode pin Ty Dillinger for the win.
I like seeing Roode finally challenge for the title. Among the four, Bobby Roode has the most immediate upside. Roderick Strong’s resume speaks for itself. Yet I think some work needs to be done to more fully introduce him to the casual fan. To me, Nxt is the show that bridges the gap between the type of fan that attends any and all independent wrestling shows and the fan who’s only contact with the wrestling business is what the WWE has to offer on a weekly basis. Being that Bobby Roode was Tna Champion while Tna still had a major network still airing their show,...

It amused me to no end when the feud between John Cena and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson got real personal a few years ago. While much of it was obviously scripted, like everything else in the WWE, there was definite tension and real-life animosity there. One of the central sticking points of the feud, which seemed to come directly from Cena's true feelings, was that Johnson had betrayed the WWE and its fans by crossing over into Hollywood and leaving them behind. Cena would constantly say he'd never leave and that the WWE Universe was his life.
And yet look at Cena now...

Bill Goldberg made his return to the ring last night and did not disappoint. In a shocker, he beat the Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar in just over 90 seconds for the victory. To this point, Brock was riding one of the greatest waves of momentum the industry had ever seen, which included a run with the WWE World Championship and the first victory over The Undertaker at a Wrestlemania. Many were left wondering why the WWE would have a part time performer who is 49 years old and hasn't wrestled in over 12 years destroy Brock as quickly as he did? What were the long term plans if this were a one and done scenario?
The folks at Pro Wrestling Sheet have discovered the reason why. They state that we've not seen the last of Goldberg in a WWE ring. According to Pro Wrestling Sheet, Goldberg has inked a deal that will see...

The 2017 “WWE Royal Rumble” will take place at the San Antonio, Texas, Alamodome — the first time the event has returned to the venue in 20 years. The over-the-top-rope fracas is set for January 29, 2017, and will run on the Svod service WWE Network. The show is considered the official kickoff to the so-called “Road to ‘Wrestlemania.'” The winner of the actual titular Royal Rumble elimination match — a 30-man free-for-all — will earn a title shot at “WrestleMania 33.” That show will take place on April 2, 2017 in Orlando, Florida. Superstars from both “Monday Night Raw” and “SmackDown...

WrestleMania is, incredibly, now about to hit its thirty-second instalment as WWE’s biggest, most grandiose event of the year. And if it’s WWE’s biggest, then it’s the professional wrestling industry’s biggest, too.
In the old days, the company had the so-called Big Four pay-per-views – Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, SummerSlam and Survivor Series – rising head and shoulders above the smaller events broadcast every month. Nowadays, though, WrestleMania doesn’t even belong in the same ballpark as the other three.
The Show Of Shows is an industry all in itself. Practically every promotion, person and pro wrestling patron with ties to the business will descend upon Dallas this week to snap up all the available hotel space and fill the city’s social calendar to bursting with wrestling-related events.
WrestleMania brings in so much revenue that the effect has been compared to civic regeneration: an independent study...

It’s the moment that many WWE supserstars dream of: winning the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania. Many dream it, but very few actually get to experience it. Among those least likely to do so are 5ft 5in, 160lb mask-wearing luchadores. In all seriousness, can you picture Kalisto ever winning the Royal Rumble and lifting the company’s top prize on the grandest stage of them all?
It’s far from a likely scenario, but it’s exactly what happened to Rey Mysterio in 2006. That year should have been one of the biggest in Rey’s career. Previously viewed as little more than a cruiserweight performer who could probably wish for, at best, a United States title run, Rey was suddenly thrust into the limelight and pushed all the way to the top.
But the reality was that the dream scenario wasn’t all that it seemed, for...

Suddenly, almost without warning, we’re just two weeks from WrestleMania 32. Time has flown since the Royal Rumble, and WWE now find themselves in a hurry to finish off a (very debatable) April 3rd card. Hopefully this week’s Raw will see a few loose ends tied up.
While last week’s show was certainly more stacked – with Undertaker and Shane McMahon finally coming face to face (and Mick Foley making a very fun cameo) – tonight is arguably more crucial for WWE.
It’s also a huge challenge. The carnival is in Philadelphia this week, which means a positive reception is almost certainly not in store, particularly with Roman Reigns topping the bill. Hopefully WWE are canny about their booking tonight, and try their best not to antagonise a potentially destructive crowd.
Whatever happens, we’ll certainly have a clearer idea of how WrestleMania 32 is likely to pan out,...

WWE had the added advantage of being able to offer up a completely fresh match on this week’s edition of Thursday Night Smackdown. Aj Styles has been a great addition to the main roster since arriving back in January at the Royal Rumble, whereas Kevin Owens has pretty much been consistently entertaining since making his debut last year. Putting them together seemed like a great idea, but was the actual content of the match up to scratch?
Styles is being prepared for yet another bout opposite Chris Jericho come WrestleMania 32, whilst Owens looks likely to defend the WWE Intercontinental Title against Sami Zayn.
