Entertaining but dated Swedish TV Series
merrywater11 January 2015
Shot in the late 1970s, this miniseries should be regarded as one of the best adaptations of Swedish Crime Fiction. Most actors were well-known at the time, and Björn Gustavsson was perfect in the lead role: absent minded, neurotic, suspect behaving etc.

This series was significant for the extensive outdoors shooting that presents the viewer with ample nostalgic time documentation from several Swedish cities such as Stockholm, Gothenburg and Kalmar (a historically important city where the main plot took place). There was even some original footage done in Monte Carlo!

The main protagonist is a College Director of Studies who gets persuaded by an old friend to undertake a couple of ingenious scams of which the first one is a class act bank robbery devoid of the usual action and gunfire.

There are some minor flaws: for instance, during the reunion dinner of the two, the lead mentions that his kids are a major expense for him when it's obvious that he's only got one child, a daughter.

All in all, the setting is beautiful, and provides the story with an enjoyable naturalness.

I don't really agree with Carl. This movie is not especially funny... I give it 4-5.... There are great actors but they are not playing so well. .
