"Tinku" follows the story of a small boy who travels alone from Beirut to Mumbai but gets lost in the city to fall with different companies before reuniting with his uncle and aunt. With an adorable child artist in the centre, it could have been a very sweet film; but the plan backfires as the film lacks the wit and warmth needed for the genre.
The film contains all the contrivances and cliches of a regular '70s capers which are at the best very improbable and unlikeable. Besides, the film disappoints with a very crude and witless role of Rajesh Khanna as a Pathan, which was meant to add a star value to the film. "Tinku" is one of escapist melodramas which apart of being improbable doesn't entertain either.
Rating: 1 star out of 4.
