This One Takes A Decidedly Different Approach...

The first two GUTS films were far more splatterific than this most recent entry - RUSTED BODY. Although the sex is far more "erotic" and amped up quite a bit in this one - based on the strong gore elements in the previous installments, I was hoping for a lot more. RUSTED BODY plays out more like a 70's pinky film minus the intriguing story lines. Lots of tits-and-ass (which is never a bad thing), and a few inventive torture sequences (again, a good thing...) but lacking in anything really "strong" or "controversial", and that's what I tend to look for when it comes to the newer era of Japanese "extreme" films.

The storyline is convoluted and threadbare - but it concerns a small "gang" of criminals who use blackmail as their source of income. They set their sights on an adulteress bank worker who embezzled a bunch of cash, and his wife. Using some inventive tortures, including drunken-eel-rape and weiner-tieing, they eventually get the info that they need. Oh - and there's some thing about this weird bed-invention that makes people real horny...who knows...

RUSTED BODY isn't a terrible way to blow an hour or so - but it's nothing really special. Some relatively erotic scenes featuring our two big-titted female leads, nothing real special other than that. If the storyline would have been better, I could have passed it off as a modern-day pinky film. If there would have been (a lot) more gore, I could have praised it as a newer J-gore/sleaze film. Unfortunately, it didn't have either, so you're pretty much left with a tame soft-core porn film with a few "strong" scenes. Not bad and worth a look to the "subversive" cinema fans out there, but if you're down with this type of stuff, you've seen it all done before better somewhere else...7/10

"Guts of a Virgin 3" is certainly different than the previous "Guts of a Virgin" movies.The film plays like soft core sex comedy with some nasty bits thrown in.The film revolves around the female inquisitor Hiriko Ichijo and her Japan Inquisition Company.She and her gang of sexual deviants use sexual torture on people who steal their money.The plot of "Guts of a Virgin 3" is slightly convoluted and hard to follow,but who cares.There are tons of sleaze and nudity for anyone interested in Japanese pinku cinema.The sex scenes are surprisingly titillating,the direction is solid and there's plenty of shocking graphics.If you are into Japanese exploitation you can give it a look.8 out of 10.

Fanastic Pink Splatter Flick

Gaira's Entrails of a Beautiful Woman is an in-name-only sequel to his Entrails of a Virgin produced the same year. Basically what we have here is a Nikkatsu pink film merged with insane 80s J-splatter, ie: loadsa rape 'n' gore!

When Yoshimi's sister mysteriously disappears she decides to do some snooping about and discovers that the Ichiyama Yakuza Clan have sold her as a slave in Africa, although by the time she learns this she is being gang-raped by that same gang and shot up with "Angel Rain", a powerful drug that causes her to really dig being raped. After the lads fall asleep she manages to escape and goes straight to her psychiatrist, Hiromi. Yoshimi proceeds to tell Hiromi what has happened then promptly jumps off a bridge to her death.

Hiromi plots to get revenge for her patient and seduces one of the yakuza before placing him under hypnosis which compels him to kill the rest of his gang the next time they call him stupid (?!). He doesn't manage this and ends up mutilated and hacked to pieces. Then the clan track down Hiromi, gang-rape her then shoot her up with some Angel Rain which, instead of making her horny, transforms her into an inside-out-hermaphrodite-demon that goes on a killing spree, gorily butchering the yakuza that raped her (and the leaders girl too).

From all the wonderfully sleazy rapes to the inside-out-demon rippin' through a chicks stomach with his/her fanged cock in an obvious Alien homage and punchin' through a dudes head; Entrails of a Beautiful Woman is one helluva good time! I actually dug this one far more than Entrails of a Virgin - it's a lot less disjointed, faster paced and brings more gore to the table too.

Director Kazuo "Gaira" Komizu seems a really interesting & intelligent character also - in the interview on the Synapse disc, when asked what prompted him to make such a film he lurches into a long and rambling answer in which he touches on philosophers such as Descartes & Rousseau, as well as topics such as the duality of man, Japans lack of a focused religion, and many others that you wouldn't really expect from the man who created this "sex 'n' gore" epic.

Give up the booty or I kill you with sexual ecstasies

This is a skin flick Japanese movie with very little if any cinematic value. Likely to be shown late at night in Showtime if it was made in the USA. However in contrast to the typical skin flick in Showtime this one has minimal production investment and the actresses are not very attractive. The worst part is the ridiculous script involving a theft and the attempts from the band of robbers to recover their booty they had lost somehow. To extract the information from the snatchers, the two female leads, use their sexual power to cause such sexual ecstasy that no one can resist. Indeed, the two guys who snatch the money withstand beatings and torture but can't resist the sexual torment. There is a laughable 'special' bed where the people having sex forward intense signals enough to torture the guy wearing a head piece wired to the bed to torture him. There is an unusual torture of a woman with eels threatening to find their way into any cavity of her body by bathing the eels with sake!. There is some contorted explanation of this unique power which is a pretext to show gratuitous sex scenes. These scenes lack eroticism or any artistic value. Overall soft core trash here, in Japan or anywhere else for that matter.
