Uschi is the Main Turn-on Here
BobbyG6 April 2022
"Getting Into Heaven" has been reviewed more than it deserves. I'll leave it to others to explain the plot which is fairly mundane. There are too many lingering, boring shots which drag the movie out. As such, the film is a tedious affair by modern-day standards, but has it's charms. Mainly the magnificent Uschi Digard, whose beauty has been rarely matched in any age. The print I viewed was extremely well preserved with few artifacts. And last and most thankfully, Uschi displays her gorgeousness in abundance, which redeems this from the abominable category.

Uschi

Warning: Spoilers
Edward L. Montoro, the man who was the heart and soul of the main era of Film Ventures International, only directed one other movie - Platinum Pussycat - and wrote two others - again, Platinum Pussycat and Day of the Animals - other than this movie.

Heaven (Marie Marceau, which is hilarious, because who else would mistake Uschi Digard with that body and accent?), Sin (Jennie Lynn, who played four roles on My Three Sons before this) and Karen (Phyllis Stengel, who was in tons of early adult, like Ed Wood's Take It Out In Trade) are out to become movie stars, even leaving behind Heaven's cop man Bernie (Scott Cameron).

This leads him to Mr. Salacity (Miles White), a Hollywood producer who gets them on the casting couch. It's pretty much what you expect, except for the fact that the men never show anything while the women show it all. There's also a scene where Uschi gets a cold and to heal herself, she has one of her friends cover her breasts with Vicks VapoRub. I love Vicks so much, so this scene meant a lot to me, particularly when you realize that it takes two gigantic tubs of the stuff to even get close to covering the pride of Saltsjö-Duvnäs, Sweden's 48 F bosom.

I mean, you kind of have to see that, you know?

Fun Sexploitation with Digard

Getting Into Heaven (1970)

** 1/2 (out of 4)

Mildly entertaining romp gets the added bonus of having Uschi Digard playing the lead instead of being in the background of a supporting player. In the film she plays Heaven, a young woman who heads to Hollywood to become a star. Once there she moves in with her friend Sin (Jennie Lynn) and soon the two have an audition with a producer named Salacity (Miles White). That's pretty much the only "plot" here as we get several sex scenes, lot of nudity and if you're a fan of Digard you're going to have a lot of fun with this one. As I read more and more about Digard it appears she didn't have too many chances of playing the lead part so fans point to this film as your best chance of seeing her. She's surprisingly very good here as she really comes across as a sweet person and someone you'd like to hang out with (even without her amazing looks). She's got an incredible body, which will be the main reason people are going to check this film out. This time out she goes completely nude in the majority of her scenes as she has a couple (simulated) sex scenes with men and one with a woman. None of them are overly erotic or sexy but she's certainly great eye candy. The supporting players features a sometimes scary Lynn and a rather amusing White. Scott Cameron plays Bernie, a cop who loses his virginity to Digard after he pulls her over. The film takes advantage of Digard being from out of the country as we get some funny jokes aimed at that including the scene where she gets pulled over. Other moments of comedy happen throughout and for the most part they work, even if they are a tad bit silly. This film will certainly never be mistaken for CITIZEN KANE but if you're just wanting to mindless sex and nudity then this here isn't too bad. Digard is certainly the main reason to check this one out as she certainly looks the part of Heaven.

Near unwatchable

If you enjoy sex 'comedies' such as Ed Wood's wretched Love Feast, here's another unfunny film about naked women simulating sex with men in boxer shorts. It could have been tolerable, but stars Uschi Digard and Jennie Lynn are simply not attractive--and Lynn wears the most eye shadow this side of Divine. Unattractive women pretending to have sex with unattractive men (one of whom bears a startling resemblance to Rick Moranis)=bad film with bad acting and bad dialogue. Perhaps I was expecting too much, but Getting Into Heaven makes its DVD partner, Angels, look like Citizen Kane in comparison. As bad as that film is, at least it has a story. You'll enjoy the extras on the DVD more than you will the features.

This was a really fun movie to make.

When I was approached by Ed Montoro to read for this movie, I thought he was joking. I had made two other films for other directors and he asked me to come read for Bernie the Cop in "Getting Into Heaven". We shot the movie on location in Sequoia National Park, San Diego, and Beverly Hills, CA. It was shot in 9 days and I had a ball with all three girls. Using the name Scott Cameron kept me out of trouble with the people at work. Sure the film has some silly dialogue, but with Uschi Digart as the female star, who would complain. I had three major nude scenes with her and believe me, she is all woman. Don't pass up a chance to see this film. Something Weird video has chosen to release the 88 minute European version of the film.

Bad puns galore
movieman_kev18 November 2003
Uschi Digart is Heaven, a girl wanting to be an actress. She dates a cop while her roommate Sin (former T.V star Jeannie Lynn) and her try to get a part in a movie from Mr. Salacity in this bit of late '60's cornball soft-core romp. If you can think of any really bad puns, chances are they're in this movie. The jokes are so bad, you'll be groaning. Also, like "The Toy Box" Uschi has fun with an inanimate object, but this time it's a stuffed plush tiger. The DVD from Something Weird pairs this movie with the just plain AWFUL "Angels". Fans of Uschi Digart, in all likelihood will adore this film.

My Grade: B

DVD Extras: Bonus shorts "Uschi Digart's Bedtime Surprise" "Uschi Digart girl snatcher" and "Doorway to heaven"; Gallery of Exploitation Art; Trailers for "Angels", "the Rubber Gun", "Out of Touch", "the Stewerdesses", "Loving and Laughing", "the Butterfly", " Pigeons", "the Models", and "Together"

Eye Candy: Uschi Digart, Jeannie Lynn, & Phyllis Stengel are fully nude multiple times

Some of Uschi Digard's best (easily available) work...
CharlesFort25 November 2006
Uschi Digard and her super hot roommate star as starlets trying to break into Hollywood by sleeping around a lot, running topless, while the director does his best cheapo Russ Meyer impression. If you like big natural breasts (especially Uschi) this movie is a homerun. Is it dumb, a little misogynist, cheaply made, etc? YES. So don't expect more than 70s boobs and Uschi's cute thick accent. As usual, the other IMDb review on here was expecting Heaven's Gate or that George Burn's movie where he is the devil, and has no appreciation for good old T&A. Recommended for fans of Uschi's work in Ilsa, Roxanna, Truck Stop Women, Black Gestapo, and anything she gets nekkid in.

Uschi Digard excels in a rare lead role
Woodyanders8 July 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Aspiring actress Heaven (a vibrant and appealing portrayal by luscious busty knockout Ushi Digard) and her gal pal Sin (foxy redhead stunner Jennie Lynn) find out that auditioning for slimy creepbag producer Mr. Salacity (robustly played with lip-smacking sleazy aplomb by Miles White) means that they both have to do the deed with him.

Writer/director Edward L. Montoro keeps the slight, but still enjoyable story moving along at a constant pace, maintains an amiable breezy tone throughout, and gets a good deal of laughs from an amusing sense of blithely lowbrow humor. Uschi not only brings a sweetly sincere charm to her character, but also bares her deliciously voluptuous wares with pleasing regularity. Scott Cameron contributes a likeable turn as doofus cop Bernie. The alternately bouncy and groovy score keeps things bouncing along. Essential viewing for Uschi fans.

one of the best Uschi flicks
john2290023 June 2006
This is one of the few movies that actually star Uschi Digard and that is a shame. Of course, she appears in countless other X-rated movies notably the Russ Meyer films but this is one of the few times she actually got to star in a film and play the main character. And she does a pretty damn good job of it too. She is definitely not shy about undressing and has a body to die for and her acting is pretty good. If she had been given a chance, I could see her as another Marilyn Monroe, a sex pot who shined especially in comedic roles. Uschi could've done the same thing had she been given a chance to strut her stuff which she is given an ample opportunity to do in this movie. The plot really is superfluous because the main point is to get the women in the film undressed as quickly - and as often - as possible. Uschi was a queen of these type of X-rated movies and that accent is so darn sexy. I wish more of Uschi's films would be released such as MIDNIGHT GRADUATE, THE MARAUDERS, LOVE THY NEIGHBOR AND HIS WIFE just to name a few.

Good and Bad

I'm a real Uschi fan so I enjoyed the movie but was thankful for the fast forward button. Uschi is in FINE form as well as her female co-star but the plot was missing. Well I didn't get the film for the story anyway so no complaints, but no recommendations either.
