Highly uneven

As a big fan of Lina Santos movies this is one of the weakest, though it is not without its charms. The writing, acting, directing and editing are among some of the worst I've ever seen. This is most notable in the first half of the film which takes place in a women's prison after the lead character, a young schoolteacher played by Lina Santos takes the fall for a murder. This is where things get really odd because the violence and sexuality one expects from Women in Prison movies takes a back seat to the soap opera treatment of events. To be fair this is not a WIP film as that is only part of the story.

After being released from prison the not-so-innocent anymore teacher takes up the oldest profession and finds she is very good at it. Sadly, this, like almost all plot elements are glossed over with lightning speed. The anticipated scenes of a scantily clad Santos plying her trade never materialize. Suffice it to say she becomes the Goddess of the Port named in the title and as such is the ultimate trophy for the men young and old in the port.

I must admit the ending caught me by surprise and almost redeems the entire mess that came before it. I can almost recommend this as a campy, so-bad-it-is-good effort. But more likely it is just a run-of-the-mill product from a studio not interested in winning any awards.
