“Schmigadoon!” star Keegan-Michael Key and “Jackass” alum Johnny Knoxville are set to star on “Modern Family” co-creator Steve Levitan’s Hulu comedy pilot “Reboot,” TheWrap has learned.
Created by Levitan, “Reboot” — which is inspired by the TV industry’s recent slew of comedy revivals — centers on the story of Hulu rebooting an early 2000’s family sitcom, and how its dysfunctional cast is forced back together and now must deal with their unresolved issues in today’s fast-changing world.
Levitan and John Enbom (“iZombie”) co-wrote the pilot script for the potential series based on a story by the “Modern Family” creator. Levitan and Enbom will executive produce alongside Danielle Stokdyk. Levitan’s home studio, 20th Television, is producing the pilot.
Should “Reboot” be ordered to series, it would mark the first streaming series for Levitan, who last year wrapped the 11-season run of ABC’s “Modern Family.” Along with that sitcom,...

Today sees the Us release of Transformers: Age of Extinction, the fourth instalment in Michael Bay’s seemingly endless franchise which has brought him enormous financial success and equally enormous amounts of critical bile and derision (most of which he deserves). While audiences no longer have to endure Shia Labeouf, the trailers suggest that little else has changed: there’s still the obsession with military hardware, the pseudo-pornographic visuals, and the incoherent shooting style that has gradually infected Hollywood.
Following in the footsteps of John Turturro, John Malkovich and Frances McDormand (shame on all of you), this film finds Kelsey Grammer taking the Bay shilling. In a way it’s fitting that the man who played one of culture’s most recognisable psychiatrists should now be playing a paronoid government agent. But there is so much more to Grammer’s career than the sardonic radio shrink,...

You’ll tune in every week to see their bright, shining faces, but no one would blame you from running from the theaters when they’re newest pictures come out. The following is a list (though certainly not a definitive one) of a list of the wonderful actors and actresses who shine on the small screen, but can’t seem to catch a break when it comes to the opening week box office. Some names might just surprise you, as they did me when I did the necessary research. Love them or hate them (though, I’ll bet you love most of them), here are six fantastic television actors with hardly any good movies (if any).
Note: this list does not include roles in animated films, directing, writing, or producing credits, or cameos (playing themselves or another character). Television movies and mini-series do not count as cinematic endeavors. I ask...

Being the new gal on any Real Housewives franchise has got to be a scary proposition, but it’s especially harrowing to join The Real Housewives of Orange County. The turnover on that series, especially for its brunettes, is high. But, Heather Dubrow may be able to stick it out. Photos: The 'Ex-Real Housewives' Club “I was completely terrified coming into this situation,” Dubrow, an actress who has starred on That’s Life, Stark Raving Mad and Jenny, tells NBCUniversal Direct while in New York City recently. “I come from scripted television,” she adds. “Had no idea what doing

Heather Dubrow, the newest addition to "The Real Housewives of Orange County" cast, stopped "Good Day La" (weekdays, 7 a.m. Pst on Fox) Tuesday to visit with her old friends, Steve Edwards and Jillian Reynolds. Dubrow first met the "Gdla" team back in the 90's, when she was still Heather Paige Kent, a struggling actress who appeared in many short-lived sitcoms such as "Jenny", "Stark Raving Mad" and "That's Life."
Edwards, who is very open about his disdain for the "Housewives" franchise, seemed surprised that Dubrow joined the show, and after watching a clip of a conversation between Dubrow and fellow "Housewife" Alexis Bellino, asked her if she was perhaps too smart to relate to her co-stars. Dubrow answered carefully. "I'll let you form your own opinion about that," she said, but added that the women don't seem to get her humor.
A clip from Tuesday night's episode reinforced the disconnect.

Since the mid-1980s, NBC has always had at least two sitcom footholds during their Must See Thursday offerings, with shows like: "The Cosby Show," "Family Ties" "Different Strokes," "Mad About You," "Night Court," "Cheers," "Taxi," "Seinfeld," "Frasier," "Friends," and -- for the last few years -- "The Office" and "30 Rock." But the network has often struggled to fill in those gaps. launching a number of mediocre to putrid sitcoms in those holes. Yet, up until "Friends" left the air, and before the prevalence of DVRs, NBC had such a stronghold on on the night, that many of those sitcoms managed top ten ratings. Few probably remember the Christina Applegate sitcom, Jesse," for instance, but it ran for two years. In its first year, it was the sixth-highest rated show of 1998 -1999, receiving about two-and-a-half times more viewers than "The Office" does today (or five times the viewers of "Community.

I know he wrote it in a blog post, but what I wouldn’t give to hear Alan Cumming, in that delightful accent of his, telling President Obama “We keep hearing that Obama is an ally, that ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ will end under his watch, but what do we actually get? Diddly squat thus far on a federal level, and in addition to that some very offensive statements that would have made the Republicans look bad."
MTV, I know you sign the paychecks around here, but you make it really hard for me to take you seriously with headlines like ‘Runaway’ Solidifies Kanye West As The Greatest Pop Star Of This Generation. I couldn’t even make it though the piece of self indulgent crap.
CBS, having already mined Twitter for all the show ideas it can come up with has devised a show about celebrity namesakes.

Eddie McClintock is back as Secret Service Agent Pete Lattimer in Warehouse 13, the second season of which is now showing on Syfy in the UK.
The American actor is also well known for playing Special Agent Tim Sullivan in Bones and Frank Helm in Desperate Housewives. He also had leading roles in short-lived sitcoms Stark Raving Mad and Crumbs.
Here, Eddie talks about the new season of Warehouse 13, his collection of comics and his dream roles.
Are you enjoying your time in the UK?
So far so good, it's really been nice. It's a little rainy, but that comes with the territory right?
Do you have any personal highlights this season?
I would say an episode called Around The Bend. Pete gets infected by an artefact, and this particular role in this particular episode kind of earns Pete the right to be who he is for the rest of the episodes.

In 2002, most of us had no idea that Neil Patrick Harris was a comic genius. It had been five long years since the former Doogie Howser had surprised audiences with his creepy-clever turn in Paul Verhoeven's Starship Troopers -- five years in which Harris had taken guest appearances in made-for-tv movies and sitcoms, done one season in a little-seen comedy of his own opposite Tony Shalhoub (Stark Raving Mad, from producer Steven Levitan, creator of Modern Family), voiced cartoon characters, and made a name for himself on Broadway in productions of Sweeney Todd, Assassins, Proof and Cabaret.
While most people can recall Harris playing a deranged, drugged-up version of himself in 2004's Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle, they may have well missed him in an earlier, equally surprising role in Undercover Brother. It would be another three years before How I Met Your Mother made him an A-list TV star,...

Steve Levitan, 47, is known for creating the TV series Just Shoot Me! Stark Raving Mad, Stacked, Back to You, with varying degrees of success. He's also known for being highly vocal in his displeasure with the networks (like NBC and Fox) at times. And, in the words of one producer, "for being the only Jew in Hollywood who wears a 44 long". But the veteran writer/producer -- who won an Emmy Award as executive producer of Frasier and has written for the Larry Sanders Show, Men Behaving Badly, The Wonder Years and other comedy shows -- is now a happy guy at the helm ABC’s Wednesday night sitcom hit Modern Family, which he co-runs with Chris Lloyd. While he has some strong feelings about the state of the TV industry, he admits in this Showrunner Q&A with Deadline contributor Diane Haithman -- done before Modern Family was nominated...
