At the time I’m writing this, there isn’t a Rotten Tomatoes score for this movie, which can mean that it wasn’t screened for critics. So check back on Rt later for what I’m sure will be scathing reviews. This should be a tough sell as later this year we get Hercules: The Thracian Wars starring Dwayne Johnson.

Open Road Films has just released the 3rd trailer for Steven Soderbergh’s final theatrical film, Side Effects starring Rooney Mara, Channing Tatum, Jude Law and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Side Effects is a provocative thriller about Emily and Martin (Rooney Mara and Channing Tatum), a successful New York couple whose world unravels when a new drug prescribed by Emily’s psychiatrist (Jude Law) – intended to treat anxiety – has unexpected side effects.

After exiting Warner Bros’ The Man From U.N.C.L.E. recently over prolonged budgetary and casting battles and leaving many of us actually bitter that we didn’t get to see such a perfect matching of director/material and star (60′s spy thriller, Soderbergh, Clooney) – director Steven Soderbergh has himself decided to take The Bitter Pill. No, not suicide but a new psychological thriller that his frequent writing partner Scott Z. Burns (who had wrote The Man From U.N.C.L.E. redo for Soderbergh and also Contagion & The Informant) cooked up years ago and has been trying to pull the trigger on.

Formeley titled The Side Effects, ‘The Bitter Pill’ is being described as a new take on Fatal Attraction and “deals with people and their moods. It’s about how we as a society can’t tolerate sadness and what that makes us vulnerable to”, according to Burns, and which has “definitely got a twist.

Scott Z. Burns is on the rise as a well-respected screenwriter. He has written such films as The Bourne Ultimatum, Oceans 12, The Informant! and Contagion. Burns also has some cool films that will be released soon, such as David Fincher's 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea and Steven Soderbergh’s adaptation of the TV show The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

Burns is also an Oscar winning producer of An Inconvenient Truth and director of the nuclear fallout drama, Pu-239. The Playlist reports that he has found his next project, a psychological thriller set in the world of pharmaceuticals, called The Side Effects.

The writer has lent his talents on the page to films like The Bourne Ultimatum, and upcoming projects like David Fincher's new spin on 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and the big screen adaptation of The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (which will team the Contagion writer with Steven Soderbergh again), but Scott Z. Burns has also directed his own film in the form of the nuclear fallout drama Pu-239. Though it sounds like the project could be very similar to Contagion, Burns description and talk about research done at New York's Bellevue Psychiatric Hospital while working on the series "Wonderland" with Peter Berg: "It deals with people and their moods.

Amanda Seyfried stars in the new live-action fairy tale remake Red Riding Hood, out in theaters this Friday, March 11.  The release of that movie got us thinking about other fairy tales played out live on the big screen for us to enjoy.

A 30-second snippet of Snoop Dogg's music video supporting his new single "I Wanna Rock" has just been unleashed by MTV, featuring the rapper kicking off a party. No premiere date for the video has been announced just yet.

"I Wanna Rock" is one of the singles set to appear in Snoop's forthcoming tenth studio project "Malice N Wonderland". The album is due to arrive in U.S. on December 8 and features the likes of Jazmine Sullivan, The-Dream, R. Kelly, Soulja Boy, Brandy, Pharrell Williams and more.

Jamie Denbo and Joelle Carter have been promoted to regulars on FX's upcoming drama series "Terriers" and "Lawman" after guest-starring in those respective pilots.

On "Terriers," a comedic drama starring Donal Logue as an ex-cop who partners with his best friend (Michael Raymond-James) to launch an unlicensed private-investigation business, Denbo plays an attorney the two often consult for help.

Denbo, repped by Pakula/King and Associates, starred in the Showtime pilot "Ronna & Beverly" and recently recurred on Showtime's "Weeds" and the new Fox comedy "Brothers."

"Lawman" stars Timothy Olyphant as U.S. Marshal Givens, a modern 19th century-style lawman enforcing his brand of justice. Carter ("Wonderland") will play an old flame of Given's. She is repped by Don Buchwald and Associates and Patty Woo Management.

"Gangsta Luv" music video has been debuted. Snoop Dogg is seen on the back seat of a car with beautiful ladies while his collaborator The-Dream is behind the wheels, driving through many different unexpected and hilarious scenarios. When the night falls, they switch their companion to female vampires and drive with them on a dark empty road.

"Gangsta Luv" is set to appear in Snoop's forthcoming tenth studio album "Malice N Wonderland" which will be put out in U.S. stores on December 8. "I had to introduce the album with part of the 'Wonderland' side - I wanted to have fun with this one - both in the studio and in the video," says Snoop.

Mia Wasikowska, who will be seen as Alice in Tim Burton's Wonderland, is close to taking the lead role in Gus Van Sant's new drama, Restless. Restless will follow the complicated story of a pair of teenagers (Wasikowska and a yet-to-be-cast lad) who share a distinct preoccupation with death and mortality. Which cities Snoop Dogg will visit when he goes on Wonderland High School Tour have been revealed. The roadshow opener will take place on October 27 in Baltimore and will be followed by at least eleven live concerts across North America before the gig is wrapped on November 8 in Dallas.

Snoop will perform hit singles from his previous releases as well as materials from his upcoming studio project "Malice in Wonderland". For the tour, he has also recruited such Hip-Hop performers as Method Man, Redman and Devin the Dude as his supporting acts.

"Malice in Wonderland" is Snoop Dogg's tenth studio album. It is due to arrive in U.S. stores on December 8 and will feature R. Kelly, Swizz Beatz, Ghostface Killah, Brandy, Mary J. Blige, Pharrell Williams and Jazmine Sullivan.

In preparation for its upfront presentation next week, Fox picked up two new series Tuesday: the comic book drama "Human Target" and the single-camera comedy "Sons of Tucson." It also renewed the midseason drama "Lie to Me," tapping "The Shield" creator/executive producer Shawn Ryan as executive producer/showrunner.

Fox, which will be the first broadcast network to unveil its fall schedule to advertisers Monday, already has two new series in the can for the fall: the animated comedy "Cleveland" and the dramedy "Glee."

"Target," from Wbtv, DC Comics and Wonderland, emerged as an early front-runner at the network. The pilot, directed by Simon West, scored the highest marks at Fox's internal screenings last week.

Based on the DC Comics title, the show, penned by Jon Steinberg, centers on Christopher Chance (Mark Valley), a mysterious freelancer who assumes the identities of people in danger, becoming the "human target" on behalf of his clients.

Hollywood stepped out of Watchmen's way assuming a gargantuan opening weekend for the violent dark superhero saga. There's no David for this expected Goliath. Hollywood provided zero counter programming for people who aren't into superheroes they've never heard of... which probably means that Tyler Perry's Madea will have another great weekend. I'm excited to see Watchmen and its base audience are absolutely committed to it but I'm curious about how well it will fare with the general ticket buying public. Everyone (generally speaking) goes to superhero movies but we aren't usually given heroes that are completely unfamiliar. We all knew who Batman, Spider-Man, Iron Man and The Hulk were when we were in diapers. Familiarity breeds box office love. A few new indies and foreign films are opening in a handful of theaters on the coasts but as counter programming that's more like David's toenail versus Goliath. Where is...

Cinematical has just received this exclusive clip from the film Phoebe in Wonderland, starring Felicity Huffman, Patricia Clarkson and Elle Fanning. Directed by first-timer Daniel Barnz, Wonderland is a quiet-but-peculiar little character piece about a little girl whose clever imagination and dislike for rules and conformity slowly begin to remove her from reality. As I said back when we premiered the poster, Kim absolutely loved this film when it premiered at last year's Sundance Film Festival, calling Fanning's performance "pretty brilliant" while noting that with his first feature, Barnz "knocks it out of the park" with an "imaginative and original script."

"Friday Night Lights" director/executive producer Jeff Reiner is set to direct NBC's drama pilot "Trauma," lifting the contingency off the project.

In other pilot-director signings, Simon West has been tapped for Fox's comic book adaptation "Human Target," and "House" co-exec producer/director Deran Sarafian has signed on for Fox's reincarnation project.

"Trauma," from Ums and Peter Berg's Film 44, is a high-octane emergency medical procedural set in the field.

In addition to his duties on "Fnl," Reiner directed the two-hour pilot for Sci Fi Channel's new series "Caprica."

"Target," from Wbtv, DC Comics and McG's Wonderland, is based on the DC Comics title and centers on a mysterious security freelancer who assumes the identities of those in life-threatening danger, becoming the "human target" on behalf of his clients.

The show "Wonderland" is returning to television thanks to DirecTV and their 101 Network. "Wonderland" is a gritty drama that delves into the lives of the doctors of Rivervue, a fictional New York psychiatric hospital.

This isn't the first time DirecTV has come to the rescue of a fan-favorite television show -- the critically acclaimed series "Friday Night Lights" has also found a home on the network.

"Wonderland" first aired on ABC in the spring of 2000 where it was met with both critical praise and controversy. Because of its dark tone and intense nature, it was quickly taken off the air. Now, fans will be able to see the entire series from start to finish with new opening commentary, circa 2009, by Peter Berg, the series' creator and executive producer.
