Forget Logic ,A fair attempt....
gauthamkuragayala20 November 2013
The story of a carefree taxi driver whose life changes when he meets a foreign based Indian girl and when his father gets embroiled in a theft which he didn't do. He takes the responsibility of returning the property of which his father was framed.A fair job by Nagarjuna .Sridevi looks as gorgeous as ever.Other roles are OK.Can be seen a Couple of times.Has some of the shades of a typical Varma film.Music is fair, the background score is too good.Usage of the Tirupathi temple was fine for that period when it was released.Don't search for any logic during the Bangkok episodes.Paresh Rawal deserves an applause for his role.Kota Too.Over all a one time watchable film.

A Gripping Heist Film
Vihari_Krishna17 September 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Story - Jewellery belonging to Lord Venkateswara will be robbed and hero's father will be falsely implicated for it. How the hero manages to bring back the robbed jewelry forms the story.

Performances - Nagarjuna shines in his role. It is a cake-walk for him, actually. Sridevi did her role well. Rest others are fine, but Paresh Rawal and Kota Srinivasa Rao stand out.

Music - Music by Raj-Koti is very nice. The background score is good too.

Other Technical Departments - Photography is simply superb. Editing is excellent and dialogues are very good. I don't know whether the original Tirupati temple was directly used or a set was built for it, but it is very very good.

Story, Direction - The story is a very unusual one in Telugu movies. It is a heist drama, primarily, but what makes it an interesting one is its gripping direction. Ram Gopal Varma's direction is just superb. His screenplay is also very good. There isn't a single dull moment in the film, except perhaps for the songs which act as speed breakers. Full marks to RGV.

Final Piece - This film has nothing to do with spirituality or divinity. It uses divinity to a certain extent. But it is actually a nail biting thriller which has a small fantasy element towards its climax. You must watch it to know the nuances in quality film making. Sadly it attracted several controversies at that time and was a box-office failure. But, it is a must watch for all Nagarjuna fans and Telugu film lovers.
