Brutal but powerful Japanese crime stuff
searchanddestroy-118 December 2016
As another Japanese crime film directed by Kinji Fukasaku: BAKUTO GAJIN BUTAI, this gangster story takes place in Okinawa, where a gang war occurs between local hoods and the mainland mob. This is a typical seventies Japanese movie, with color and music score. Some unbearable torture and killing sequences, such as this one of a man whose genitals are torn with a knife, or this scene of a guy whom a car crushes his legs. Awful, sadistic moments, even for a crime movie buff like me. I like the main lead actor, the boss character, I don't know him; you have here nor Tsuruta Koji, Bunta Sugawara, Tetsua Watari, Takakura Ken or Noburu Ando. Anyway, for those who like Yakuza stuff, hard boiled movies from Japan, you will like this one.
