"Sex Trek: the Wrath of Bob" was supposed to be shot the week this movie was produced, but essential cast member Mike Horner (Mr. Sperm) was unable to make the shoot. So the night before filming began, director Scotty Fox had writer Cash Markman dash off a new script, "Sex Trek: the Search for Sperm," which explained why a key member of the crew was missing, and allowed Horner to participate via clips from the first "Sex Trek" parody (already in the can) and Voice Over to be recorded later. The rush job didn't seem to hurt matters. This take-off of the original "Star Trek" notorious misfire, "Spock's Brain," got a 4 star review from critic Gene Ross for the December 1991 issue of Adult Video News, peaked at #6 in AVN's sales' chart for that month, and was up for a Best Screenplay award 30 days later at the Adult Video News Awards. "The Wrath of Bob" was pushed back several months and filmed for release the following year.
Of the ten scripts nominated by AVN for Best screenplay (Video) in January 1992 at the Adult Video News Awards, Marc Cushman wrote five. This was one.
Sequel to "Sex Trek: the Next Penetration." Followed by "Sex Trek: the Wrath of Bob." Spears and Horner would reprise their roles yet again in the late 1990s for "Sex Trek" the Man Eater" and "Sex Trek: the Final Orgasm," and again in 2006 for "Sex Trek: Where No Man Has Cum Before" and "Sex Trek: Charlie XXX." All seven were written by Marc Cushman. The first three directed by Scotty Fox, the last four by Markman.
Filipino actress Mimi Miyagi was the youngest cast member, she was just 18 years old during filming.
