- [first lines]
- [after tackling a rider off his horse]
- Red Ryder: Get on your feet and keep your hands where I can see 'em, mister. I'm takin' you in to the sheriff, mister and he's a cold hand with a rustler.
- Faro Savage: Hello, Sheila. I see you're gettin' less particular about the company you keep.
- Buckskin: You just keep talkin' like that, Savage, and your chin will meet your forehead on the way up.
- Red Ryder: Not now, Buckskin. Let's not make Faro feel bad. He might remember a day when his chin did meet his forehead.
- Faro Savage: That wasn't a fair fight and you know it.
- Red Ryder: That's right, Faro, it wasn't. You had a knife and I didn't.
- Faro Savage: You're just guessin'. You can't prove a thing.
- Red Ryder: No, not yet I can't. But you know, Faro, when I set my mind on something, I usually get it accomplished.
- Faro Savage: Well, until you get the proof - and you won't because I haven't done anything wrong you won't get it - you better let me go. I was a lawman long enough to know my rights.
- Red Ryder: Yeah, you know your rights, but you better watch your step, 'cause it's not going to take me long to learn your wrongs.
- Dan O'Connor: If there were only someone who could stand up to Faro and...
- Sheila O'Connor: All right, Pops, out with it.
- Dan O'Connor: I've got it, Sheila. I know just the two-fisted redheaded galoot to do the job.
- Sheila O'Connor: Now, hold on, Dad. We O'Connors aren't used to calling for help. We've always fought our own battles.
- Dan O'Connor: You, my daughter, are to do no more fightin'. I've told you before, you are to act like a lady, so go on and hitch up the buckboard. I'm drivin' in to the telegraph office in Indian Springs to send Red Ryder a telegram.
- Sheila O'Connor: But, Dad... Act like a lady, but hitch up the buckboard. He can't win.
- Henchman Windy: While I was standing outside, a redheaded galoot rode up. Had an old man and an Indian kid with him. He was asking about O'Connor.
- Faro Savage: A redheaded cowboy with an injun kid? Was this cowboy wearing batwing chaps with an 'R' on 'em?
- Henchman Windy: Come to think of it, he was. Why, do you know him?
- Faro Savage: Know him? Sure I know him. His name is Red Ryder! We've had dealings before.
