cowboys and cowgirls would square in western style competitions ranging from saloon brawls to paintball gunfights. the show was very well paced, staged and executed, but was never given a fair chance to succeed. In most areas it was relegated to an overnight time slot.

Please Reboot this Show!

I used to stay up extra late as a teenager to watch Wild West Showdown right after American Gladiators ended and it was amazing! All the 90's nostalgia is making a comeback right now, so can someone please spearhead this show into something equally as challenging and entertaining? This is totally the American answer for those Japanese Game Shows. 'Murica...yee haw!
Get your spurs on and come get dragged down the town main street hanging on desperately behind a really pissed off horse. And look good doing it! This is totally the ultimate dream competition fantasy that you wish you would see if you took that DeLorean with Doc back to the Old West times... adonis cowboys and cowgirls redefining a gladiator-like competition with a classic touch of rawhide and wild west stunts making amateurs into future stuntmen and stuntwomen.
Saddle Up! These kinds of shows are extinct but their awesomeness encaptured the 90's pre-reality show competitive entertainment television (late night always).

This was a wicked competition-type show where contestants (Cowboys and Cowgirls) would compete in events that entailed being dragged behind a horse, running across a pond full of logs, getting to the top of the water tower, etc. while the baddies of the show (in the fashion of the Gladiators on "American Gladiators", incidentally, this show was produced by the same company) tried to prevent them from accomplishing these tasks. There were some great characters, my personal favourite was "Silk", a beautiful Cowgirl who looked about as mean as they come. It really was a great show, it was on at 12:30pm on Saturday nights, and I was sad to see it go.
