"Schall und Rauch" is a German short film from 1933, so this one is already almost 85 years old and was made when the Nazis came into power in Germany. The director is Hans Fischerkoesen and as a consequence this is a mix of live action and animation. It only runs for two minutes and it is a short commercial for a cigarette brand. We see man lean back comfortably and smoke a cigarette. From the smoke of it, we see how several ballet dancers appear and we listen to famous classical music. That's really all there is to it. It is okay for this runtime and people back then did of course not yet know about how dangerous smoking was. Fittingly, the man we see died only the year after this film came out, but I have no idea if (lung) cancer was the reason. Anyway, it's not one of the most or least known Fischerkoesen works. If you like his other stuff, then you can check out this very short film here. just don#t expect too much.
