The best film about military aviation of WW2
cs_99431 January 2002
"Diving bomber chronicle" is one of the best films about the World War 2. This is the story of Honour and Duty. It describes the last three days of the Pe-2 soviet diving bomber crew -- the three young men about 20: a former school teacher, musician and artist. An excellent integration of original documentary film chronicle into the modern film shooting. One of the best works of Oleg Dal ( air gunner ).

The war always killed the young

Warning: Spoilers
This is my first review here and I want to write it after watching this film. If you expect to see action, you will be disappointed. Here is a consistent story about the team of a Russian bomber flying out on dangerous missions on the Eastern front. They are young and strong. they think about their peaceful lives. and they eventually die. This is quite interesting and liked the lack of Communist propaganda in this Soviet film . I watched it without translation, I was helped by a friend from Russia, with whom we are working together on a project in Asia . He said that in Russia it is a favorite movie about WWII. This is my first experience of films from Russia. The Russians, too, fought with us against the Nazis as our Allies and deserved honors. When I asked him why they acted like Japanese kamikazes, because they were so young, my Russian friend told me that they could not do otherwise... I didn't really understand it, but I just agreed with him. If you come across a version with subtitles, it is recommended to watch.
