A terrific little gem

What a wonderful movie from the other side of the Alps mountains. I don't know the director and neither the actors. This is the story of a lonesome but heavily armed man, in a flat from where he fires at the outside. He has a pistol, an automatic rifle and many other fire arms. The most unusual element here is that you have many unexplained things. Who is he? Why does he behave like this? Who are the woman and the baby with him in the apartment? His family? Hmmm Not sure. You also have no dialog here, unless the desperate man's cop friend who tries to push his pal to surrender. I don't remember the lead spoke even a single word during the whole film. A film made in the year 1968, a particularly violent and nihilistic year all over the world when all kind of valors were rejected. A year when the social problems, revolutions spread all over the planet. So, its a movie very fashioned with the year. Back to some scenes of this feature, one in particular moved me, is when the killer takes care of the dying woman, a woman whom he put his pistol on the head a few scenes earlier. A fascinating movie.
