One of Rishi Kapoor's last hits as a solo hero

Warning: Spoilers
David Dhawan is known for making comedies, though he started off with action films like Taaqatwar, Aag Ka Gola he shifted to socials with Swarg(1990) but got success with comedies, from Shola Aur Shabnam, Bol Radha Bol(1992). Don't expect logic in his films just entertainment. Another aspect he has made many films on is double roles, mostly creating confusion. Bol Radha Bol involves around a scam where a mistaken identity purposely replaces the original. The first half focuses more on love story between Rishi and Juhi which does have it's funny moments but it's the second half when the real confusion takes place, which mostly happened in 90s. The film also has some stupid scenes like Kader Khan's character who goes blind after 6'0 clock in evening but that was all forgiven in such films those days. The film released in 1992 when Rishi had another hit Deewana, in both films Sushma Seth plays his mother.Rishi Kapoor however by this time was around in his 40s and he was putting on lot of weight, looking misfit to play a romantic hero yet he went on playing a romantic hero even in late 90s. Direction by David Dhawan is good Music is good, Tu Tu Tu Tu Tu Tara became very famous, title song too is good

Rishi Kapoor plays both the roles superbly, proving yet again that he is a fantastic performer, though his weight worked against him Also the SFX between both is downer, but that is forgiven for a 90s film Juhi plays her part well, as the gaon ki gori who later changes her style to fool Tony. Kader Khan is hilarious in his role which may not be sensible, but he always played such crazy characters. Alok Nath in a negative role is superb, Mohinish Behl is also as usual Sushma Seth is her usual self, Kiran Kumar is as usual, Shakti Kapoor proves some funny moments The rest including Arun Bali, Tiku Talsania and rest are okay

Tiku Talsania,

Like always what can you expect from cheesy bollywood movies . India has talent and I think they can make good original movies but they prefer stealing ideas from hollywood and other foreign films , coz its easy. But stealing is crime , even the story and idea. Plus one of the quality of indian writers and directors is , they are shameless about it. This movie is a copy of original hollywood movie "The man with my face 1951"

David Dhawan had successes without Govinda like this movie

The first half is quite nice The twist is well-handled and the movie goes on a different pace

The movie was quite fun though Kader Khan's role looks weird when he goes blind after 6pm Though it works

The music is good Direction by David Dhawan is brilliant The film is a great entertainer all the way

Rishi Kapoor handles both roles well but is a little overweight Juhi Chawla looks nice Kader Khan excels Shakti Kapoor is memorable Kiran Kumar, Mohnish Behl are typecast

Bol Radha Bol is an entertaining and light-hearted romantic comedy that offers a good blend of humor, romance, and drama

Bol Radha Bol" 1992, Bollywood film is directed by David Dhawan, the film stars Rishi Kapoor and Juhi Chawla in the lead roles. Here's a review of the movie:

"Bol Radha Bol" is an entertaining and light-hearted romantic comedy that offers a good blend of humor, romance, and drama. The film revolves around the story of Kishan Malhotra (Rishi Kapoor), who finds himself in a series of amusing situations when he gets mistaken for a wealthy businessman named Bachchan. He falls in love with Radha (Juhi Chawla), a village girl, and their love story forms the central theme of the movie.

The film benefits greatly from the chemistry between Rishi Kapoor and Juhi Chawla, who deliver enjoyable performances. Rishi Kapoor brings his trademark charm and energy to the role of Kishan, making him a lovable and relatable character. Juhi Chawla, on the other hand, shines as the innocent and endearing Radha, bringing her natural comedic timing to the forefront.

The screenplay of "Bol Radha Bol" is well-paced, keeping the audience engaged throughout. The dialogues are witty and laced with humor, which adds to the overall entertainment quotient. The film also features several catchy songs, with the popular track "Tu Tu Tu Tara" becoming a chartbuster at the time of its release.

The movie does have its share of predictable moments and clichés, which is typical of romantic comedies from that era. The plot could have been more innovative and less reliant on formulaic storytelling. Additionally, some of the supporting characters and subplots feel underdeveloped and could have been explored further to enhance the overall narrative.

Despite its flaws, "Bol Radha Bol" manages to entertain with its light-hearted nature and engaging performances. It is a feel-good film that can be enjoyed by fans of romantic comedies, especially those who appreciate the classic Bollywood style. If you're looking for a light-hearted and enjoyable movie with catchy songs, "Bol Radha Bol" is worth a watch.
