In this movie Ilyenko portrays a young fatherless boy who seems to prefer living a vagabond and carefree life. His imagination tears through the walls of reality, while he runs from the special school's staff by day, and sleeps without permission in boats by night.
Throughout his few days in the special school, the teachers get to know this good-hearted but irascible rebel, and he also makes a few friends. Still, not everyone there is kind to him, so he decides to run away again and continue his search for a place to call home. And finally finding one.
