I read an interview on the filmmaker of this rare gem and he was quick to point out his film was a low-budget "learning experience." He likens his production more to a student film and/or amateur production than anything else, but I think he's being way too humble.
First of all, yes, the production is low budget. But that makes the effort all that much more grand! The film pulled off some pretty serious effects and the storyline was a simple sci-fi classic -- a man on the run from "the law," only the Law turns out to be The Law from another galaxy, this being the twist ending.
UFOs, two-legged animated robots running amok and alien holograms. This film has a little of everything and the interview I read made me go back and watch it a few more times. Now knowing the obstacles and lack of support the filmmaker had in pulling this project together, I am clearly more awed. Of course I'm an effects freak, so I might be a little biased, but believe me, this is a must-see especially for student filmmakers and persons wanting to know just how far a small budget can go.
I'm surprised I haven't seen more work from this person. I'd love to see what he can do with a real budget.
