• Hubert : [on the phone]  Hello, City Pound? This is Hubert on Main Street; I've got a couple of customers for you.

  [bellows] 

  Hubert : Send a truck right over!

  [truck promptly pulls up] 

  Hubert : What took you so long?

  [bellows again] 

  Hubert : Get that cat and that dog, and take them away!

• Hubert : Reba! Reba! That cat and dog are in my yard again! Where's my stick?

  Reba : It's right beside you where you always keep it, dear.

  Hubert : I know that!

  [Reba exits into the house] 

  Hubert : [picks up his stick and turns to Garfield and Odie] 

  Hubert : [gently]  Come here kitty, come here doggy, I want to pet you.

  [harshly] 

  Hubert : With my stick!

  [swings his stick at them repeatedly, misses and instead brings a hanging plant down on his head; Garfield and Odie give each other fives] 

  Reba : [reentering the porch]  Well, just look at you, Hubert, potted again!

  [laughs] 

  Hubert : Dagnabbit Reba, can't you see I've been assaulted by those pesky varmits? Bring me the phone!

  [to Garfield and Odie] 

  Hubert : You've done it this time! I'm gonna fix your wagon once and for all!
