Cover Was Brilliant - DVD please!!

I remember this show so well, very cheaply made but the writing and acting is superfluous. Ahead of it's time, probably the reason Thames didn't commission another series, one of their few poor decisions, in my opinion.

From memory; each episode is basically a 3 - 4 hander and effectively 1 - 2 studio sets, no exteriors, but the interplay between spy and spy catchers is brilliant

I have been desperate to see this series again, I even sent a tweet to the Philip Mackie's Granddaughter, who is an actress, to ask if she could ask her Grandmother if Philip may have had a spare copy of this fabulous series. Sadly I didn't receive a reply.

Talking Pictures have shown a several of the old Thames series, so I emailed them to ask if they may be able to get the rights to show Cover, they will if it comes up and the price is right. Fingers Crossed.

Great Spy Show

This is the third time I've had to rewrite this review, because on my tablet, if I tilt slightly, or the doorbell rings, or anything that makes me jump, or simply getting comfortable and feeling that landscape is better. I place my tablet down, and when I pick it up, everything I've typed is GONE. That's a seriously silly hole that any web developer can fill. So I saw the pilot, and was rapt the whole show. When it was over, my parents told me to go to bed. I bought my first radio times with my pocket money to find out when the next episode was out. I saw all six (7?) episodes... I can only vaguely remember... Finally I can talk to someone about it, but after 37 years I really need watch it again to make a proper review. PLEASE PUT THIS ON BOXSET (Zelda would...)

Staggeringly good, incredible it was never repeated.

Amazing writing, dripping with tension while looking like it had a budget of about £5 an episode.

If there ever is a digital release, I've no doubt it'll appear ridiculously dated as the sets were almost amateur dramatics society quality.

But the tension, paranoia and overall sense of "wtf is going on??" mean I still remember it 40 years later!
