Oxygen is a thriller about a self-styled escape artist who calls himself "Harry" (after Harry Houdini). Harry (Adrien Brody) kidnaps Frances Hannon (Laila Robins), the wife of rich businessman Clark Hannon (James Naughton), buries her alive, and demands $1,000,000 before revealing where she is buried. Detective Madeline Foster (Maura Tierney), who has a tendency for self-mutilation, is assigned to the case.

In several other scenes that show Harry's boots, e.g., in the cemetery and the interrogation room, it can be seen that they are splattered with yellow paint, i.e., Harry was the painter of the walls. It's to show the connection between him and his surroundings. Before his arrest, he spent time there as a maintenance person to become familiar with the floor plans so he could later escape.

Yes, but only for a few seconds. After the chase in which Madeline is forced into a tunnel, she and Harry collide with a parked taxi. Following that scene, Harry gets out of his car and rounds a corner. In the background, Adrien's parents can be seen walking and watching.

Apparently not. Toward the end of the movie, Harry tells Madeline that he "lucked into" her, suggesting that he didn't have any particular police officer in mind at the start of his plan.
