Will & Grace came on to the scenes as one of the first shows to include, or revolve around, homosexuals. I remember an Entertainment Weekly article that featured a line of guest stars appearing on the show (Cher, Minnie Driver, Matt Damon, Kevin Bacon, to name a few). The line is seemingly endless. I don't even think Friends in its ten years came as close to who these people met.
It's a charming sitcom that revolves around four New Yorkers. Will Truman (Eric McCormack) is a gay in a suit; he doesn't realize how gay he is until he catches himself criticizing the clothes people wear. He's also a lawyer who often has to defend self-proclaimed high-brow Karen (Megan Mulally) from the trouble she and her alcohol will get into. Jack (Sean Hayes) is as queer as can be, and he never fakes it. Unfortunately, his outgoing flamboyant self has yet to get laid. Grace Adler (Debra Messing), in my opinion, plays a much finer role- she is exciting yet predictable. She is the most down-to-earth character, a character the audience doesn't always respect, but needs to have to make sure Karen and Jack don't set things on fire.
What I'll remember this show for is for the warmth that the show attempts to achieve at the end of every episode, like every sitcom, but the characters are more delightfully zany. I'll also remember the episode where Gregory Hines (as Will Truman's boss, Ben) does a fantastic tap dance superior to Jack's sloppy version (Jack never gets to see Greg do it though) before his farewell. Oh, yeah, and for the hundreds of celebs who appear on the show to support the gay movement that Will & Grace is doing through comedy.
