"Saakshi" is a 1967 Telugu film that marked the directorial debut of the renowned duo Mullapudi Venkata Ramana and Bapu. The film garnered critical acclaim and received recognition at the prestigious Tashkent Film Festival in 1968. It also served as a launching pad for actor Krishna, who would later become a prominent figure in the Telugu film industry. Sharing the screen with him was Vijaya Nirmala, who eventually tied the knot with Krishna. The film achieved both critical and commercial success.

Another noteworthy introduction in "Saakshi" was actor Saakshi Ranga Rao, whose name would forever be associated with the film in his subsequent ventures. The narrative revolves around a naive and innocent young man who faces exploitation by society, eventually transforming into a hardened individual. The performances delivered by Krishna, Vijaya Nirmala, and Saakshi Ranga Rao were exceptional, and the film stands as a significant milestone in their illustrious careers.

The film features five memorable songs that contribute to its overall charm and appeal.
