notorious ending, pure sleazefest
trashgang22 March 2012
You know, those exploitation and drive-in flicks from the early seventies. Well, this is sure one that fits on top. As so many bikers are involved but this goes one step further. It contains a lot of nudity and a lot of sex scenes.

There isn't that much to tell about this flick, it was the first flick by Carl Monson here stated as Carlos Monsoya and it really has some bad filming. Shaky camera's not intended and wrong use of temperature. All the actors in it did appear only once in the film industry except Dennis Troy who went further to appear a few times in M.A.S.H. The way this flick was filmed especially the first sex scene was I guess done under the use of LSD, it's filmed with a kaleidoscopic effect and the voices are overdubbed. Once the two bikers go for a rape in a house you will have a sex scene that will take forever with some psychedelic music over it. So story wise there is nothing to tell, it's all about the nudity here in this flick. The two bikers are walking around naked a few times and yes you do see their balls but it never becomes pornographic. The editing is something weird to with flashbacks and flash forwards of raping girls. Weird weird weird. It's available on a DVD somewhere but I've got the very obscure Dutch VHS in perfect condition on the VML label. It's not for everybody but people who dig exploitation and sleaze than I would recommend it. And if I say Harry Novak was involved then you know what you will get.

But the most important reason to see it is the end, talking about a big joke...

"I've Been Screwed better by Salesmen!"
Another smutty blend of insanity from Harry Novak and directed by Carl Monson (under the alias Carlos Monsoya!).

This is a blend of biker and skin that has all the elements you would expect from the talents of Monson and Novak. E.J and Will are the lead Bikers, two scum-bags who mean to do what they want and when they want it, whose penchant for L.S.D, Sex and Shooting is only matched by their thirst for more degenerate and inspired acts of violence. They break into houses and accost the lady's inside at this point Will has the "I've been" line thrown at him, which does not go down well. From here on in the action gets even more off kilter, I won't go on to ruin a good tale just see this classic for yourself.

Imagine seeing this one in the cinema at the time, I would have loved to see the audience reaction.

Literally the same movie as The Wild Riders but as a porno
robertjsmith-4445828 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This movie, is literally the same as The Wild Riders with minor differences. The movie begins with a murder of another biker by EJ as Willie Boy watches. No one knows who exactly these men are, in old school illegal porn, real names were seldom used. EJ then proceeds to pick up two Hippy girls, get them high and he and Willie Boy have sex with them. Later EJ kills a Gas Station Attendent and witness a redhead Barbie played by early 1970's porn star Anna Travers as credited as Susan Apple in this film. The driver who picks her up in a 1969 Chrysler Town and Country Wagon is Laura 1963 September Playboy Playmate Victoria Valentino, credited as Kim Kaya. EJ and Willie Boy follow them home and begin a continuous session of rape and victimization. The film ends with Laura's traveling husband coming home and killing both men. Then everyone laughs and the cast and crew burst onto the set as the cameras roll. EJ is like Pete in The Wild Riders only a legitimate badass. Willie Boy isn't like Stick but he does everything EJ tells him. Valentino would go on to become famous again when the Bill Cosby trial began.

Absolute sleaze.
HumanoidOfFlesh15 January 2011
Two sleazy bikers/criminals/alpha males Will and EJ have tons of sex with two incredibly dumb 70's girls, rob a gas station and finally invade the home of Laura, who along with her gal-pal Barbara have to put up with their shenanigans. The party involves rape, verbal abuse, drugs and booze.Suddenly Laura's husband appears..."The Takes" quickly becomes absolute sleaze with enough gratuitous sex bordering on hardcore to satisfy any self-respecting smut peddler. However I genuinely enjoyed the climax of the film as it was so unexpected and surprising. On the same time it was strikingly awful too!Overall,"The Takes" is a must-see for fans of 70s US exploitation trash.7 sleazy bikers out of 10.

Nice slice of 70's biker exploitation trash
Woodyanders29 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Housewife Laura and her friend Barbie are terrorized and manhandled in Laura's home by scuzzy degenerate bikers E.J. and Willie Boy.

Director Carl Monson relates the enjoyably sordid story at a constant pace, maintains a raw, mean, and sleazy tone throughout, and delivers plenty of tasty bare female flesh along with a handy helping of seriously hot and explicit semi-pornographic sex. Fred Bush and Coe Bart are appropriately nasty and despicable as the slimy hairball antagonists while Vicki Carle and Anna Travers make for fetching damsels in distress. The loopy and unexpected breaking the fourth wall ending is simply priceless. The funky-grinding music hits the get-down groovy spot. Recommended viewing for 70's grindhouse cinema fans.
