Sex & Nudity

  • There is a scene involving rape and necrophilia at the very beginning of the movie. An English soldier gropes Joan's sister and tears her clothes apart. She struggles, he grabs her throat, impales her belly with a sword, pinning her against a wooded door of a closet and then rapes her lifeless body. A young Joan of Arc sees this from inside the closet.
  • Joan is examined to see if she is a virgin. She is standing up and behind a curtain, and only her lower legs are shown.
  • Joan has a brief nightmare of the rape of her sister later in the movie. No nudity, and only the man's face is seen.
  • There is an attempted rape in which some English soldiers tear Joan's dress apart, but they are stopped. No nudity is shown.
