By-the-numbers Patty Hearst styled porn
lor_19 October 2010
Though TANYA remains the definitive porn treatment of the Patty Hearst incident of the '70s, BREAKDOWN attempts to cover the same territory in hardcore fashion. Opening credit bills it as "a Message film", so beware.

It's largely an excuse for interracial sex, as the Baron (credited as Baron Finch) and his minions have sex with white women while stock footage in the vein of MEDIUM COOL shows a militant, confrontational society outside their window. The cops are depicted here as brutish, beating up and raping the women when they interrogate them in search of info about the whereabouts of the Baron. Conclusion is predictably nihilistic but carries no force whatsoever.

This is hardly the subversive "get Whitey" type of film that typified much of the Blaxploitation cycle, but merely generic mixed combo sex scenes. Technical credits are meager.
