Gandy Goose is reading Mother Goose in bed. This irritates Sour Puss. When they fall asleep, the reason becomes clear: Sour Puss dreams of Mother Goose in swing and fairy tales, and the bad stuff happens to him in this Terrytoon.
A lot of the Gandy Goose & Sour Puss cartoons involve their dreams, and this one is no exception. The score by Paul Terry's musical director Philip Scheib is typically fun, with the lyrics sung by a Modernaires-style chorus. It's an amusing handling of children's themes.
I've remarked in earlier reviews that Gandy & Sour's characters were becoming increasingly like Laurel & Hardy. In this one, Gandy performs Stanley's signature hair-tousle -- although "feather-tousle" might be more accurate.
