- In the version that showed on Cartoon Network, there were many cuts for time, violence, and swearing. All uses of ass, hell, and damn were scrubbed from the movie (i.e. Goblin says "we're gonna have [an interesting] time" as opposed to a "hell of a time"). References to religion were also trimmed. There is also an alternate angle of Norman getting impaled that is less violent.
- The theatrical version featured the Sum 41 song "What we're all about" playing on the radio when Ben drops Peter off at the library. This has been removed from subsequent versions
- The 2022 UK TV airing on ITV2 cut the presumed reference to homophobia in the line where Peter jokingly asks Bonesaw if his husband made his outfit.
- In addition to the noted 2022 ITV2 cut, there are a number of other, minor edits for sexuality and violence on the televised Spider-Man, different edits on the different showings. For example, in the scene with Mary Jane and Spider-Man in the rain, when he saves her from a mugging, her nipples and areolas are distinctly outlined. In the ITV broadcasts, these scenes have been zoomed into so that the revealing part of the image is clipped out, while maintaining the overall correct size and proportion of the frame. A full breakdown of all edits may be found at movie-censorship.com
- A scene that was cut from the movie was a large chunk of Stan Lee's cameo, as said in the video "Stan Lee's Mutants, Monsters, and Marvels." The scene was that Stan Lee was selling sunglasses and looks over to Peter Parker and says: "These are the same glasses that the X-Men wore," or somewhere along those lines. The cameo was included on the DVD release under the "Outtakes/Bloopers" along with a lot of other screw-ups on the set.
