Bounty hunter becomes the hunted
zeppo-228 April 2005
Actually, the above summary makes this film sound a lot better than it really is. A episode from a TV series it says on the home page or more likely a failed pilot for a continuing series that never materialised. Whichever, it's pretty dire in any case, Billy Dee Williams as the police captain just sleepwalks through his role and seems quite happy to be shot to escape from the film. Not an option for the viewers.

Michael Dudikoff plays bounty hunter, Sonny McClean, one of the most stupid protagonists I have seen in a film for a long time. Everyone in the film and all the viewers are miles ahead of him as the plot slowly develops. Bounty hunter? Take him all his time to catch a cold or find his backside with both hands.

It's all familiar cop show drama, hero framed for a murder, only days to save himself and solve the crime, blah, blah, yadda, yadda, you know the rest. Very much strictly by the numbers and nothing people haven't seen before and done better. Lee Major's old TV series, 'The Fall Guy' was in the same territory as this and done a bit better and with a modicum of humour. As was Steve McQueen's last film, 'The Hunter' and while it was certainly no classic and probably one of his lesser films, it still stands head and shoulders over this poor showing.
