I absolutely loved the story here, very heartwarming, and a great movie for the whole family to watch together. It will bring everyone's spirits up. Kudos to the director for a great job well done.

Keep making great films like this, and the world can be a better place.

Underrated Christmas classic
TheLittleSongbird9 December 2010
The Teddy Bears' Christmas is not the best Christmas special, but it is wonderful all the same. It is heart-warming and poignant, and manages to bring a warm and cosy feeling which is exactly what a Christmas special should do in my eyes. The animation is great with beautiful colours and backgrounds, and the music is memorable. The story is beautiful and heart-warming, the pacing is spot on, the writing is lovely and the characters are compelling and likable and nimbly voiced.

All in all, The Teddy Bears' Christmas is a lovely little treasure. Is it is the best? I think not, but it leaves a wonderful feeling after it finishes and it does perfectly at what it set out to do. 10/10 Bethany Cox

Teddy Story

Warning: Spoilers
"The Teddy Bears' Christmas" is a book-based half-hour television special for the holiday season and this one premiered back in 1992, so it is already over 25 years old. Director is Paul Schibli and he is as unknown pretty much like basically all the other people working on this one behind the camera as well as voice actors, so I will spare you the names. But the good is that this film is evidence of how you don't need really famous names to make a lasting impression as I quite enjoyed this little movie. I think it is at its very best early on at the house still when we get the introduction to the story, but when it moves outside to the department store and gets slightly worse, the second bear is introduced and lifts the quality again, so it is all good really. Enjoyable for sure. I thought the first bear looked a bit like Winnie Pooh and with that second bear the title was also explained to me as I kept wondering about the plural form. In any case, this little film here was released 3 years before the global blockbuster hit Toy Story and this is what I am referring to with the title of my review. Obviously it would be nonsense to say Toy Story stole the idea from this one, but I am still surprised to see a film that has a smimilar concept like toys that talk and move around when nobody is watching, even if it is only teddy bears in this movie. by the way I loved the recurring joke with the dog being after the bears, even if I found it a bit surprising how he ignores the first bear on one occasion when he is all about chewing on the letter to Santa. Oh well, you can't really expect reason from animated dogs I suppose. In any case, this was a little fun movie, definitely a good watch for the holidays and even without a logical explanation I liked the ending and I think they are getting away with it as some sort of Christmas miracle for sure. So in my opinion, you should check this one oput, preferrably before December is over. It is also closer to 4 out of 5 than to 2 out of 5, which means something for sure. Perhaps I will adjust my rating on rewatch at some point. Go see it.
