When I was a kid, I first saw this show and sure it was at the same time as VR troopers, MMPRs and Beetleborgs and unlike those shows, which made a lot of money and were all syndicated and sold toys, I never saw any toys or advertising, and to top it all off with those premium time slots the others had, this one came on VERY EARLY in the morning.

Screw the bad points, here's the good points. There was a plot to steal gasoline out of working cars and turn them into car vampires. it was up to these teenagers who hung out at a junkyard after school to literally save the world, at least some countries that depend on automotive transportation. The special effects were rare for this time, on TV shows so I enjoyed the 3d battles. Any kid that was into cars, liked hotwheels, their parents took them to races, this show was for them. Like the others, I recommend you try to find this cult classic, and I do mean try because I haven't yet.

Uncreative mess
brookewhite19983 March 2015
Warning: Spoilers
This story doesn't seem like it was told out of passion more like Transformers did so well so they were going to try and do the same thing. No wonder there was only one season!

~ The CG looks like an unappealing mess that makes the Go-bots look amazing.

~ The heroes are annoying whose dialog mostly consists of dumb car puns and no development into their characters.

~ The villains goal is so confusing. He wants to suck out all the gasoline and replace the world with Vanpires. What is he supposed to do when he achieves that goal? What would they do if humanity died and no one was left but Vanpires?

~ No logic makes sense in this world. How can that meteor turn a tricycle into a dog but humans into giant robots?

~ There's also many plot holes in this series. Like when the villain turned all these cars into Vanpires. However those cars are never mentioned again. Why?

I only gave it a star because the villains are somewhat entertaining.

So in conclusion, this is basically a bad rip-off of Transformers and if you DO watch it. Just know that there's no satisfying conclusion to what happens with the heroes and villains.

a gift from God

Every day i thank the lord on high above for Van-Pires (1997). Van-Pires (1997) brought me out of depression. Van-Pires (1997) struck down my worst enemies. Van-Pires (1997) Fixed my marriage. Thanks to Van-Pires (1997), my children will finally respond to my voice again. My mother, who was in a terrible coma since 1986, sprung out of her hospital bed into a jolly little jig after only a few minutes of Van-Pires (1997). As a simple father with good old American Values, i cannot recommend Van-Pires (1997) enough.

Van-Pires was okay but not a good super-hero show!!!
iCarlyFan20098 May 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Van-Pires was okay but when Power Rangers, Beetleborgs, & VR Trooper came in the 90's. Van-Pires is bad because it don't have lot of action in it.

Power Rangers, Beetleborgs, & VR Trooper are the best than this show.

Van-Pires is like Digimon Season 4.

In Van-Pires, Human turn into RoboCar & In Digimon Season 4, Human Kids turn into Digimon. (Some type of show)

Power Rangers, Beetleborgs, & VR Trooper are the best super-hero show ever.

Who don't like "Van-Pires"?

Van-Pires TV Show on Fox Rock Band Starr '97
Libra27-11 January 2007
The best part of that Van-Pire's TV Show on Fox was the Rock Band Starr. They added so much to that show's excitement. They performed a song every show, besides acting in the show, and I tuned in just to see them. Someone should give Starr a new TV Show. The Band has a very nice fan base and I think allot of people would tune in to see Starr, They were all characters them selves plus really good looking bunch of guys. The Evil Rock Band Starr Fox TV Show. Niki Shea Drums, Zane Fix Vocals, Luke Luv Guitar, & Jerry Moon Bass, These 4 guys had so much charisma and added so much to the show. Playing such songs like New Improved Gods, Luv Nyc , Lipstick Ammunition. I heard that someone was in the early stages of doing a Pilot adventure Cartoon / Live acting series with Rock Band Starr, sort of like Van-Pires was, Half Human interaction and half cgi. But I haven't heard a thing lately. I hope someone does do a new show with these guys. They put on a hell of a concert and there personalities are very funny, They did a movie I saw. it was a documentary on The Fashion industry and Glam Rock bands of New York City called "Freaks, Glam Gods and Rock Stars" on IMDb: Movies, TV, Celebs. But I really miss tuning in every Sat. morning to see them on the Van-Pires TV show. Dickie Doze

It's not quite a Transformers rip-off, but it's not quite a good show either.

Warning: Spoilers
The Van-Pires. Boy, this show was a real stinker! On this show there is a group of evil living cars (Van-Pires) led by Count Tracula (BAD PUN), who fiendishly steal gasoline- without paying for it! Enter the Motivators, four teenagers who can transform into half human half car beings who fight the evil Van-Pires. This show clumsily and poorly combined live action footage, and computer animated scenes. (The teens in human form was live action, but the show would become full computer animation when they turned into the motivators and fought the Van-Pires). I cannot remember how the teens gained their powers, it probably had something to do with some type of nuclear energy, or a meteor shower, or maybe... a nuclear meteor shower! This show was just plain awful, complete with bad acting, weak plots and low budget special effects.Van-Pires was cancelled after only about a dozen episodes; maybe even less. If possible you should try to watch an episode of this show so that you can see just how mediocre it is.
