Typical poor loves rich Greek film
pmitsi-115 December 2008
A typical "poor loves rich" Greek film. The poor people are presented as moral and kind, while the rich as mean and arrogant.

The performances are as usual two-dimensional, with the exception of Xanthopoulos who manages somehow to be more convincing (he became known for playing poor characters with integrity). The leading lady, Antzela Zilia, is a singer-turned-actress but (unfortunally) doesn't sing in this film.

The songs as a matter of fact are very good and are now considered classic. The remarkable with this type of films is that the supporting actors are brilliant (Eleni Zapheriou as the mother Lavrentis Dianellos as the captain are more than satisfactory).

Watch it, unless you have already watched a Xanthopoulos film with about the same plot.
