Manifest concludes its four-season run with the release of season four part two on June 2, 2023. Part one wrapped up with episode 10, “Inversion Illusion,” which found Zeke sacrificing his life to save Cal.
Zeke overheard Olive describing Cal as the dragon who can save everyone. If he dies, all is lost. Zeke, being the decent man we’ve come to know and love, knew he was the only one capable of pulling Cal back from the brink of death. Zeke’s now dead as part two picks up, and Cal’s in perfect health thanks to Zeke’s courageous act.
Zeke’s death leading to Cal’s survival was just one of the key events that transpired in episode 10. (Here’s a full recap for those who need a refresher.) Episode 11 picks up with all 828ers in confinement and...

InterviewThough he started as a romantic hero, in the last few years Kunchacko Boban has broken the shackles of the heartthrob image and stepped up his act. His next movie ‘Bheemante Vazhi’ releases on December 3.Neelima MenonPhoto by Anwar PattambiThis writer was in Class 12 when Aniyathipravu (1997) was released. Though touted as Baby Shalini’s debut as a heroine, teenage girls took stock of the quiet young man who looked deep into her eyes at the public library, handed her a romance novel and walked away, with a throbbing romantic melody wafting in the backdrop. During a time when Malayalam cinema was still grappling with themes that paid obeisance to the alpha male heroes, Kunchacko Boban was like a breath of fresh air, who took on the mantle that was left vacant by chocolate hero Rahman of the 80s. For the longest time Kunchacko played heartthrob and danced like a dream,...

Neverending Nightmares
Infinitap Games
PC, Ouya
Based on designer Matt Gilgenbach’s battle with obsessive-compulsive disorder and depression, Neverending Nightmares is a psychological horror game that amplifies feelings of unease through repetition in a minimalist setting. Personally, this was the most difficult game for me to finish because of the content. There were several moments when I just had to stop and seriously question whether or not I could feasibly finish the game. I am a little squeamish around blood, which is why I refuse to see most horror movies right now, and Neverending Nightmares artistic style made sure you knew there was blood on screen.
There are said to be three endings to Neverending Nightmares: Wayward Dreamer, Final Descent, and Destroyed Dreamer. I managed to end the game with Final Descent, and that is good enough for me. I am nowhere near ready to go back in. One and done.

Warner Bros. has picked up the screen rights to a supernatural horror book series by Rick Yancey called The Monstrumologist. That book is just one of a four-part series, and the other books include The Curse of the Wendigo, The Isle of Blood, and The Final Descent.
The story centers on "Dr. Pellinore Warthrop and his assistant Will Henry. Will is an orphan under the care of Dr. Warthrop, who studies dangerous creatures and monsters. The story is set in 1888, when a nightmarish specimen is carted to the monstrumologist’s home — a vicious man-eating creature without a head."
I've never read any of these books, but that sounds like a really awesome story that has potential to be an awesome film. The studio has hired screenwriter Jessica Postigo (The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones) to write the script.

Around five years ago our own "Belle from Hell," Elaine Lamkin, rewarded Rick Yancey's The Monstrumologist (review) with a five-knife rating, and apparently Warner Bros. agrees with her because they've just picked up the rights to Yancey's entire four-book series.
Per Variety, the adaptation has been set up with Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith Vein and State Street’s Bob Teitel. Exec producers are Eric Robinson at Gotham Group and George Tillman, Jr., at State Street.
The studio has hired Jessica Postigo (Mortal Instruments: The City of Bones) to adapt the script while newly hired senior VP Drew Crevello and creative exec Jon Gonda are overseeing for the studio.
The Monstrumologist launched in 2009, followed by The Curse of the Wendigo (2010), The Isle of Blood (2011), and The Final Descent (2013), all from Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers.
Book Synopsis:
These are the secrets I have kept. This is the trust I never betrayed.

Rick Yancey is having one hell of a year. While Sony Pictures is moving full steam ahead on a big-budget adaptation of his Ya alien invasion thriller The 5th Wave, with Chloë Grace Moretz starring and The Disappearance of Alice Creed helmer J Blakeson sitting behind the camera, Warner Bros. has just inked a deal to acquire feature rights for the author’s four-book Monstrumologist series.
Yancey’s books center on a doctor and his young, orphaned assistant who study and (when necessary) hunt monsters in 1800s New England. The Amazon synopsis for the first book, The Monstrumologist, reads as follows:
These are the secrets I have kept. This is the trust I never betrayed. But he is dead now and has been for nearly ninety years, the one who gave me his trust, the one for whom I kept these secrets. The one who saved me . . . and the one who cursed me.

Remember when Twilight was the king of the MTV Movie Awards? The monster film franchise adapted from the Stephenie Meyer novels have won a total of 16 buckets of golden popcorn, making it one of the most successful franchises in Movie Awards history, which is a sentence that make the MTV Movie Awards sound far more important than they actually are, but I digress.
Fact of the matter is, the Breaking Dawn installations of Twilight have been the weakest popcorn nod earners for the franchise: possibly because MTV wants other flicks to get a chance at the awards, or maybe because they've decided that Twilight is a horrible thing after all (and it's way too late to decide that). Breaking Dawn Part 2, the very last film of the saga, only garnered a single nomination in new category Best Shirtless Performance for the film's resident jailbait hunk, Taylor Lautner.

The nominees for the 2013 MTV Movie Awards have been revealed, setting up what looks to be another rollicking ceremony celebrating the Cinema of Cool (via golden statues of popcorn — or Golden Popcorns, if you want to be all official-like).
MTV's own Josh Horowitz joined "Pitch Perfect" star Rebel Wilson to announce the nominees, with Quentin Tarantino's "Django Unchained" and Seth MacFarlane's "Ted" coming forth as the major contenders with seven nominations each. Does this mean that the slave turned bounty hunter should team up with the foul-mouthed, hard-drinking teddy bear in some future cinematic adventure? Hey, we'd see it. Twice.
Meanwhile, "Silver Linings Playbook" follows close behind with six nominations, while Christian Bale's final (Or Is It?) gig as the Caped Crusader, "The Dark Knight Rises," scored five. Rounding it up are "The Avengers," "The Perks of Being a Wallflower," Wilson's own "Pitch Perfect" and the latest...
